Appointment to Council on Lazarene Security

VI. Council on Lazarene Security



Composition of the Council


(1) The Delegate will appoint Councillors to the Council on Lazarene Security, subject to confirmation by 50%+1 vote of the Assembly. Councillors will serve until resignation, removal from office by the Assembly, or automatic removal from office.

Per the text of Mandate 12, given above, I would like to make my first appointment for a post on the Council on Lazarene Security: Imkiville.  Imkiville, also known as Imkihca on these forums or as Imki colloquially, has a recent record of serving as Delegate over Lazarus for a period of basically eleven months.  Having come to know Imki well through my serving under her as Vice Delegate, I value Imki's input, wisdom, and guidance in things NationStates.  As she is not automatically set to serve on the Council after her period on the Delegacy, I hereby present Imki to the Assembly as the subject of an upcoming vote to determine her potential for service.

I firmly believe that Imki has the capability to serve in this capacity, as Council service presents a less demanding approach to the leadership of Lazarus than the Delegacy, allowing her to continue to serve Lazarus faithfully without leading to any potential concerns about her ability to do so.  Thus, when the vote goes live, I encourage people to vote affirmatively for Imki's service on the Council on Lazarene Security.

Following the precedent set earlier by Imki during her time as Delegate, I recommend a 48 hours voting period for current citizens on the resolution of this vote.

Cabinet Minister Appointment

Mandate 12, Article IV Wrote1) The Delegate will set the course of the Cabinet with such ministries, programs, and activities as they determine are beneficial for Lazarus.

(2) The Delegate may issue executive directives to set public policy for executive ministries, programs, and activities. Such directives will remain in effect unless rescinded by the Delegate who issued them or a subsequent Delegate. Such directives may also be amended by the Delegate who issued them or a subsequent Delegate.

(3) The Delegate may appoint Cabinet Ministers to assist with executive ministries, programs, and activities, and must fill any ministries mandated by law. Appointment of Cabinet Ministers will be subject to confirmation by 50%+1 vote of the Assembly.

(4) Cabinet Ministers will serve until resignation, removal from office by the Assembly or the Delegate, or automatic removal from office.

(5) The Delegate may provide for the appointment and removal of Cabinet deputies.

Recently, Imaginary Friend has elected to step down from her role as Minister over Interregional Relations.  Thanks for your assistance, Imaginary!

In her stead, I would like to appoint Ryccia. Ryccia has been serving as a deputy under Imaginary since late November, and I've been watching Ryccia's interactions during recent efforts in working on reestablishing connections with The West Pacific.  I feel that Ryccia has a diplomatic approach that shows careful thought and communication, which are both crucial in establishing long-term foreign connections.

As above with Imki for her Council post, I now put this to the Assembly for a period of discussion and voting.
