    [Discussion] Citizenship Act (October 2018)

I'm against a mandated citizenship official. If the Delegate wants to appoint one, I'm fine with that because that's authorized by Article II, Section 5 of Mandate 12. But mandating a citizenship official vested with the Delegate's authority when the Delegate may not want such an official would...

[Discussion] Assembly Procedure Act Amendment (September 2018)

If we stick with only one, it should be Aye/Nay/Abstain. People are used to that, which means even if we put something else in the procedures, we're still going to get people casting votes of Aye/Nay/Abstain because they haven't read the procedures and those are the standard votes pretty much...

[Discussion] Assembly Procedure Act Amendment (September 2018)

I don't like "appropriate synonym." Too much ambiguity and Speaker discretion, leading to complaints and potential legal challenges. Is "YOLO" an appropriate synonym for Aye, or not? I would argue it could be. Some would probably argue it couldn't. You see the issue. You might think the issue is...

    Office of the Assembly Speaker

Effective immediately, I resign as Assembly Speaker. I've notified Imki and she knew of my intent to resign in advance, though I had still intended to wait a few more days. But I've barely been able to be around and it's holding things up in the Assembly, even if just ever so slightly. I...

A motion and a second have been received for the Delegate's nominations to the Cabinet of Lazarus. This is a vote to confirm Cabinet Ministers. As such, each nominee requires a 50%+1 majority to be confirmed. Citizens may vote "Aye," "Nay," or "Abstain" on each nominee or on the nominees...

I will allow an additional 24 hours for more questions, or for the nominees to answer outstanding questions, before bringing this to vote.

Judicial Act [A.J. 2] [Passed] Criminal Powers Amendment (September 2018)

A motion and a second have been received for the Criminal Powers Amendment. This is a vote on a constitutional amendment. As such, it requires a three-quarters supermajority to pass. Citizens may vote "Aye," "Nay," or "Abstain." The timing allotted for this vote is five days. Voting will end on...

    [Discussion] Cabinet Appointments

I will second the Delegate's motion to vote. That said, and I'm sure Imki would agree with me, I'll go ahead and exercise the Speaker's prerogative to delay a vote for up to seven days if it hasn't had enough discussion. I won't set a certain length on that -- I'll just wait and see when...

[Proposal] Criminal Powers Amendment (September 2018)

I'm not fond of the idea of the Court conducting criminal reviews without a petitioner. That would allow the Court to investigate someone for criminal wrongdoing on a whim, which just increases the likelihood of corruption and abuse of power down the road.

    [Discussion] Cabinet Appointments

I meant to say this earlier and then got caught up in the procedure of it all, but full support from me for all these nominations.
