RE: Appointments (July 2019) - whatermelons - 07-11-2019 So the second one, right. RE: Appointments (July 2019) - McChimp - 07-11-2019 whatermelons;6562 Wrote:So the second one, right. Please keep things civil. There are, in fact, a number of good reasons one might choose not to work with Antifa, not least amongst which is the fact that the NPO is often amongst their number. Legalist Zombal;6557 Wrote:Yes. My plans generally include doing any and all operations as possible under current law. I would discuss with Shareholders about my ideas of doing things such as tags/detags/chasing with our allies or by ourselves. I will, of course, follow how we Shareholders as a majority vote on the matters. I want to find out how Lazarus itself wants it's military to operate and I will then operate in that fashion to the best of my ability. I cannot support the use of this position as a platform from which to erode Lazarene neutrality. I'm sorry, but I'll have to vote nay. RE: Appointments (July 2019) - Legalist Zombal - 07-11-2019 I believe I may have been misunderstood earlier so I want to say again what I mean, I would like to reiterate that I am very tired and after this post will wait until tomorrow to answer questions. I want to see how lazarus wants our military to operate, and I will operate as such. I will begin a discussion about what exactly our military should do, if we should amend the laws affecting such and etc. I want to make sure that I am leading the military of Lazarus as Lazarus wants. I believe we could work alongside allies in more operations, however I am more than willing to work with them in fighting fascism as well as fighting the NPO. If that is all that the military does, and I guess delegate transitions for Laz and Allies, then I will only do those and I will do them to the best of my ability. I wish to make sure I stand for and among the people of Lazarus, to make sure that the military is run how the people want Lazarus to be seen on the R/D stage. Nothing more to say.My duties would be to maintain a high endorsement count, assist the Vice Delegate in encouraging others to endorse the Delegate and Security Auditors, and helping where I can with LazENDO. I would also like to say: I am a dedicated, long term native. I have been in Lazarus since 2015, with the exclusion of being kicked out during the coup. I have already served as a Guardian prior in the CU era and Chief Justice of the Court in the HRL era. I think the notion that I haven’t been around all that long is incorrect. RE: Appointments (July 2019) - Constie - 07-11-2019 McChimp;6531 Wrote:Atlantica and Wymondham both seem like excellent candidates for the Court. Treating the CLS as only a spot for former Delegates is rather dangerous, in my opinion. Normally, at the end of a Delegate’s term, they are burned out and generally inactive, which is not good for the CLS. The CLS should be comprised of trusted, active individuals. RE: Appointments (July 2019) - whatermelons - 07-11-2019 Aflana was not a delegate RE: Appointments (July 2019) - McChimp - 07-12-2019 whatermelons;6570 Wrote:Aflana was not a delegate I voted against Aflana at the time and would do again. It continues to baffle me how somebody we know so little about was put into such a position of trust. RE: Appointments (July 2019) - Constie - 07-15-2019 I motion to vote RE: Appointments (July 2019) - Imaginary - 07-15-2019 Atlantica and Wymondham have both spent a fair amount of time participating in our legislature, so I think it's reasonable to have them on the court to help interpret the laws they've spent time thinking about already. I don't understand the other appointments. LZ has never participated in an operation the Guard has organized. I think if possible positions should be something you earn through participating well at a lower lever here in Lazarus, not just because you have experience from elsewhere. For example, many such as Whatermelons and Ryccia have participated regularly in the Guard's operations and are knowledgeable about r/d. Should the position now be going to LZ instead of one of them? I look forward to working with LZ now that he has joined the Guard, but I don't think it's appropriate to immediately make him the leader of it when he hasn't even been a part of the department before. I feel similarly about the appointment of John Laurens, not because he hasn't been present in Lazarus, but because he doesn't have very much experience doing things in the current government. Yes, he has assisted NR in Internal Management, but I have not seen him take the initiative to DO a whole lot for the region in the position. Wouldn't JoWhatup, Ryccia or myself, who have put in a significant amount of effort into this region as Directors, be better appointments to the CLS? I would like to see JL building up our region more as a Shareholder or in one of the departments before entrusting him with such a high-security position. Furthermore, I think it's important to consider what these two appointments, if they pass, would imply about our region. They don't seem particularly meritocratic, and I was under the impression that was the kind of government we were shooting for. |
