This is for discussion over a potential judicial branch for the Empire. Currently we have never actually had a Judicial Branch, although we have had proposals for them. |

An impartial Judicial branch is important to prevent the government from becoming corrupt or abusing the constitution. I believe the Judicial branch should be formed by three High Justices. They must have excellent knowledge of the constitution, and should any law or decree passed by the senate, Prime Minister or Chancellor be considered in violation, they have the right to repeal it, but only if all three justices agree. An agreement of all three justices can also dismiss a senator, but not the Imperial Chancellor. Justices can serve for however long they choose to, and may resign if when they wish. When a justice resigns, the Imperial Chancellor, with the approval of the Prime Minister, can appoint a temporary justice, until the next senate election when the next justice can be voted upon. Justices can be dismissed by either the Imperial Chancellor or Prime Minister with a two-thirds majority vote from the senate. Along with interpreting the constitution, the High Justices also maintain order within Warzone Sandbox by enforcing laws. A single justice can take on a criminal case, including cases of treason or verbal abuse, and decide an appropriate punishment. The accused can appeal for a hearing with all three justices, but only two of the three justices are required to agree to reach a verdict. |

To be fair I do enjoy the way Wintreath does it, with no technical standing judiciary. Also the only position of Government that can become corrupt and be unstoppable is the Imperial Chancellor, and even then in that instance the people still have the right of rebellion. However your system works too. |
