 Helloooooooo Wardens and friends! Sometimes after a long battle with darkspawn, a warden needs to find some time for some rest and relaxation. There’s nothing like sitting back and losing yourself in some music; so, in that spirit, here is something a little different for us to do together to build camaraderie with music. What we will have is a contest a lot like Eurovision except you will not have to submit an original song. We want to be as inclusive as possible and not everyone is musically gifted. Each person who would like to participate will submit one song to be judged. All participants will then cast their votes, ranking songs they like the best. How To Submit A Song You will be able to submit a song either on our regional forum in this thread or via telegram to [nation]Deadeye Jack[/nation]. You have one week, from March 8th 7:30 PM EST to March 15th 7:30 PM EST . The following format should be used for submission: Nation/Common Alias : Song Title: Artist: Link To Song (eg-Youtube): Voting Once the submission period ends, a list will be provided with all the songs that were entered into the contest. Then it will be up to each individual participant to listen to the songs and determine which ones they like the best. We will also host a listening session on our discord server with a playlist of all the songs submitted for the contest. It’ll be a good way to hang out and maybe to get to know some different people. More information on when exactly that will be will come out later. The voting system will look like below (subject to change based off of number of entries) 12 points - Top Choice 10 points 8 points 6 points 5 points 4 points 3 points 2 points 1 point Once the submission period ends there will be one week to vote from March 15th 7:30 PM EST to March 22nd 7:30 PM EST. If a participant fails to send a vote their entry will be eliminated from the contest. Once everyone has voted the points will be tallied and the entry with the highest points will be declared the winner. Hello and welcome to the results show of the inaugural Song for the Ages contest. For all who appreciate music, this contest shaped up rather nicely with diverse representation across genres. There were some classics, some socially conscious music, some good old pop and lots in between. The contest had something for everyone and if you’re like me your eyes were opened to some music you never heard before that you ended up liking. Anyway without further ado, let’s start going through the results. Sadly, there were two disqualifications: the songs entered by Switz and Siege. These participants did not get their votes in on time and so no matter how they placed in the votes they will be disqualified and discounted. That leaves us with twelve remaining entries. A list of the entries that finished outside the top 4 in reverse order is as follows: 12. Elfine - My Response YouTube Demonetization by Imudz 11. Sir Merlin - Another One Bites the Dust by Queen 10. Nakari - They Gave Me a Lamp by Public Service Broadcasting 9. Alkasia - Days of Elaine by The Decemberists 8. Kyorgia - Recession Session by No Credit 7. Escade - Like You Like That by L Devine 6. Vincent Drake - Steel Rail Blues by Gordon Lightfoot Now you may notice we didn’t go up to 5th place. That is because there was a tie for 4th! The two tantalizing tied tunes: Ian Fleming - Say My Name by Odessa Ft Zyra Deadeye Jack - Neighbors by Lucius The next song, taking home the bronze with 51 points and just barely eking ahead of the 4th place finishers was the funky cool song sent by Tim – Models by Busty and the Bass ! In second place, with 56 points, was an act literally taken straight from the streets. It’s the excellent busking group sent by the menancing eye of Sauron- Millionaire by Phat Bollard. Finally, we saved the best for last! I’m sure you’ve guessed by now the winner, but here it is officially: The first ever winner of Song for the Ages, with a whopping 74 points far outpacing the rest of the field, we have Gibraltarica – Rock It For Me by Caravan Palace ! Thank you everyone for participating. As I said earlier this has been a wonderful experience and we will be back bigger and better in the near future so stay tuned.
