Hey everyone!

This thread is to discuss possible "events" or activities that we could have either on our forums meant for us or to be shared with the wider world. Things I'm looking for are like the MS Paint Contest we held recently. Your idea could be for a one off or something that we could do again and again. Something that a lot of people could participate in but that wouldn't take a lot of effort or guidance to run.

One idea I was thinking about was like writing prompts and contests related to that. The length would be up for discussion. I think it would be kinda neat if we limited things to like 100-200 words. Something like write the scariest story you can in 100-200 words.

Obviously there are also games like Mafia and the Resistance and Spyfall that could be played as well.

Anyway let's hear your ideas.

A writing contest would certainly be interesting. I think that things like the Paint contest are also good ideas to do multiple times. I think that another good idea would be to have things that are of a wider variety of things, things like photography contests or otherwise ways to incorporate RL skills into one that allows people to get involved with TGW in a way that isn't just R/D.

I totally agree about having more things not related to R/D. That's what inspired me to have this idea thread and it's been something I've wanted to get started for what seems like almost a year :D

There aren't enough stars in the thing to display my senior warden status and I'm also too lazy to do anything about it, so...yeah...oh hey it's the Defender Awards! Good luck everyone! Jeez what is the character limit for this thing
In my home region and a few other places, we have a song contest. It's called Eurovoice, you pick a song from anywhere (does not need to be self-made) and submit it. All participants vote on the songs and the winner gets to host the next contest. The host can set a theme for entries if they so desire. Eurovoice is a simple, but fun event that gets surprisingly competitive. In a region like TGW, we could add some flavor to the contest with VC parties where we listen to the entries and comment.

My other idea is to have a caption contest like in The New Yorker. An image/drawing is presented of a random, but unique/interesting situation, and entrants compete to give it the funniest/best caption. The winner would get to choose the next image.

I'm definitely all for the Warden version of Eurovoice I think that would be super fun. Can definitely get with the caption contests and things like photography contests as well.

Keep the ideas coming folks
