So many great, great choices for this category. I third United States of Vietnam Shrewd tactician - check. A trigger setter and caller that makes Vapid blush - check. An intense and detailed understanding of update - check. Always willing to pass on knowledge - check. I'd consider Vietnam to be one of the best and most complete gameplayers around today. I third Nakari So, you know when you're teaching somebody how to chase, and you have to explain the activity page to them and what they need to watch out for? I wanted to explain it to Nakari, but as it turns out she already had it open and endorsed my nation for training without me having to say anything. That is a perfect example of Nakari's unique talent - it's intuitive for her, in a way that it's not for most others. She understands before you even finish explaining. That she reached the status of Warden-Constable so quickly should not come as a surprise. I third Vincent Drake Vinny's penchant for quickly picking up things is different to Nakari, but no less amazing. He intuits things a bit less than Nakari does (though still quite a bit), and instead is just an incredibly fast learner of anything, even the very very technical things. Add to that an awe-inspiring record of participation, breathtaking speed, and a very mature view of the world, he is not just a great updater and a great Commander, but generally a defender that the vast majority of more tenured defenders could only hope to be. I third FORGE Considered cute initially, the efforts of a large swath of people in various member regions really paid off as they've managed to make a decently skilled, sizable, and active interregional defense coalition - something that many have tried and failed at. Indeed, FORGE is a core component of defenderdom's piler force and can field many updaters when needed; furthermore, FORGE was where many talents such as Lenlyvit, Miravana, Somyrion, Kanglia, and others (plz don't be mad if I forgot you) were forged (hah, did you really think I'd resist the pun?) I third Lenlyvit Lenly started as yet another native with a burning desire for justice. He found Solidarity and quickly rose through the ranks there, got his first updating experience through FORGE, and then joined the Wardens where he's been indispensable. What's truly amazing is that all of the various things he did (which is alot) were done from a phone! |

Technically Roavin was already defending at the cutoff of July 1st 2016. He and I both started in mid-late June. Don't know if W&S wants to be a stickler about it, but I figured I'd point it out. |
