That's right, they're coming back! This is the suggestion thread for any new awards to add to the defender awards. The plan right now is to do the Spicies sometime later, so for now this will just be the suggestion thread for the Defender Awards. Liberations / region locking / refounding all play into it as well. |

That sounds good. I think keeping both of them is fine in that case. |

What about, 'Best at Training New Recruits' Me, and many other newbies wouldn't have got where we are today without the efforts of many of you guys, and I think we should recognise that. |

Last question re: the name of the Dipes Award. Do we want to rename it or keep it the same? |

I like the Numero Capitan Award for it. The only ones that may have a gripe with that are the FRA guys. If they coo though, which I think they'll be, we can move forward. |

Sounds good. We'll plan on renaming it the Numero Capitan award and then move forward with this list. Thanks to all for your suggestions! |

NuCa was an FRA intel minister for years so I can get behind that for the Dipes award, I don't have too many issues with NuCa unless I'm missing something to get upset about during his/my remaining last activity. You should definitely consider renaming some awards to update and modernise them a little more, but some should be kept simply as a nod to the FRA, the previous players and the history of the awards. Some TITO players should get some names too, especially as they've been around forever and have a number of legends still serving. The awards definitely need to be named after players who have been around for a number of years and been at the forefront of defending for that time, and not just ones who are very active now. Not had too many issues with some of the players mentioned so far. Where would the awards be hosted? Here I'm assuming. Have you thought how you are doing votes? Or just copy the previous models? Will there be a continuity to the awards? I.e. when you have the opening thread will there be a thread for previous winners/previous awards names like this > > http://s7.zetaboards.com/FRA/topic/9228655/1/#new Following on from the continuity of the awards question, are you planning on calling it the 10th Annual Defender Awards? Or Defender Awards 2016/7? |

I can answer the last question. I'm fairly sure we're going with Defender Awards 2017, as that's what I put on the banner I designed for the event, which W&S said was fine. If we are changing it though, that can easily be done. Of course, I could be wrong, so don't quote me on that. |

Sounds good. I think we were going to do that.
Here, and for voting I will probably copy the previous models.
On the first question - thanks for pointing that thread out. I think I'll take the info in those threads and continue them here. On the second - We're calling it Defender Awards 2017, as Charles noted. Continuity has been in my mind quite a bit, since I was present for some of the last rounds of defender awards and am familiar at least peripherally with the traditions. Charles has helped me with some of the banner designs, and I'm finally done with a lot of RL stuff and working on award designs right now. We should be ready to roll early next week. |
