Oroqus Political Debate

Oroqus aims to become an actively political region, and one part of that is encouraging and engaging in political debate. Something that is truly at the heart of Oroqus is its opposition towards authoritarianism. However, one might ask, what is authoritarianism? People argue that it's many things, such as communism, fascism, monarchism, racism, and much more. However, what is at the center of all of these "-ism"s? What truly is authoritarianism in a region?

In Oroqus' RMB, residents discussed authoritarianism and what it actually is, and why. A Oroqus resident offered this point of view on authoritarianism:
Quote:

What about regions outside of Oroqus? Regions across NS have been suppressing freedom on all fronts. All kinds of authoritarian regimes from Communists and Fascists to militant antifascists and Anarchist rioters. Oroqus needs to step into inter regional politics and fight against those who suppress political freedom, civil rights, and ideological dissent. We should, nay we MUST combat tyranny across NS.

This was my response:

Communism, in actuality, isn't a form of authoritarianism - rather, it is an extreme form of socialism. Communist states, however, are authoritarian, in essentially disguising their authoritarian regime as a communist government (a complete oxymoron). Militant antifascists are not necessarily authoritarian. In fact, you could call us militant anti-authoritarians, as we're unusually aggressive towards authoritarianism compared to the rest of the community. Anarchist rioters are also not authoritarian: rioters are violently protesting people, not an authoritarian regime, and the ideology of anarchy is essentially the extreme of socialism, being even more extreme than communism. Socialism shouldn't be authoritarian, as it advocates for a liberal, free democracy, but it can be warped to appear that way.

would any extreme ideology eventually seek to protect it's power thru the use of authoritarian tactics?
