Putts were distributed according to height, scorepads were issued for unofficial record-keeping, and officious-looking referees of the Fair patrolled the venues to eliminate cheating. All sorts of bizarre loopholes, shortcuts, and hazards had been set up, luring the experienced politicians and figureheads into a challenge unlike any that they were used to dealing with. All that was left to do was compete. And, perhaps, engage in some diplomacy along the way... (Feel free to begin roleplaying in this thread. The first round of scores will appear Monday night, US Central time.)

The sign in didn't take long as he stepped out onto the field clubs in hand and made the first poor attempt to putt in the practice area. "I wonder where everyone is?" he asked as the day began.

The former Republican National Soccer Team captain, World Cup Hall of Famer and one half of the New Republican Wrestling Comglomerate's World Mixed Tag Team Champions (with his wife, legendary female wrestler Lucia Bolton) spent very little time actually governing the Free Republics. That, he left to Consul Nicholls, who had basically been governing the Free Republics by himself for many years, except for that time when Caleb O'Reilly was elected Junior Consul and turned himself into a totalitarian dictator, with the assistance of an army of Citrus Computing's finest robots. But the chaos of the past was now behind the FFR. With the recent defeat of the far-left rebels and the conversion of their republics into "charter societies" under the control of every extremist group in the Federation, the Free Republics had put its decade of political extremism behind it once and for all. Although Consul Bolton had been elected as the Liberty Party's candidate, he had shown no interest in policy or in exercising his authority as co-commander of the Republican armed forces. Instead, the media reported endlessly on his luxurious lifestyle and his open marriage to his beautiful wrestler wife. When the National Leaders Golf Tournament was announced, Consul Bolton hadn't planned on participating but much to his surprise he found his name on the signup list. This had been the doing of his co-consul, who was too busy working on a business deal in Acedonia to travel to the World Fair. Instead, he decided to force Kyle Bolton, the partying soccer legend, to do some work for once. His mission at the golf tournament was to meet other national leaders and negotiate trade deals that would secure more markets for Republican-made goods in general and goods made by Nicholls Enterprises in particular. As Consul Nicholls always liked to say (in private), "What's good for Nicholl's Enterprises is good for the Federation of Free Republics." At this moment in time, Nicholls Enterprises badly needed new markets because its revenues weren't growing fast enough to keep investors happy. And since Consul Bolton needed, above all else, to keep Consul Nicholls happy, he needed to help the world-famous business tycoon make even more money...

Grzegorz Dabrowski, a tall and big man wearing a tuxedo and sunglasses, comes out of the car first, he looks around and says "it's fine". Chancellor Arijana Ibrahimovic, 36 years old, then comes out of the car followed by her caddy Raghallach Mac'Ill'Oig, 72 years old and a little deaf. Grzegorz Dabrowski is Ibrahimovic's body guard and a Kontinental Geopolitics Bureau agent. The KGB has been created (officially) to study geopolitics whitin and even outside our region. The KGB is interested in a particular nation, the Free Republics, which is capitalist. Capitalism is banned in the U.S.A.R. since the socialists are in power. 500 meters further the golf entrance, a white van is parked. Inside the van, there's two KGB agents and their mission is to intercept Consul Kyle Bolton's conversations on his cell phone and listen to them. Other nations, and especially the Free Republics, doesn't know inside the van there's KGB agents spying on capitalist nations (unless someone finds the van suspicious). Chancellor Arijana Ibrahimovic shakes hands with most leaders, including Gregicstan leader Melee Kerman, but refuses to shake hands with Consul Kyle Bolton. Posts: 1 Group: Members Member #177 Joined: Dec 18, 2017	Not wanting to be outdone by any fancy cars of any other nation at the fair, Iarocav made it clear from the beginning that he wanted to be transported around the fair in a small, open-air dirigible. Nothing whose "footprint" would be larger than your average luxury limousine, but enough to show the Drawkian culture on any people at the fair. Since it was an open-air gondola, Iarocav and his wife, Meliauden, simply opened the door which flipped downward into a ramp on to the ground. They both disembarked from the ship at the golf course. After politely asking for the longest possible putter available (Drawkians are all tall, and Iarocav is no exception at 7'5"), he made his way to the course with his wife. With the leaders currently amassed at the head of the course, Iarocav gave a kind greeting to all of them, something along the lines of "Greetings, sir/ma'am, I'm Iarocav, Supreme Drawkionel of the Interstellar Empire of Drawkland. You can just call me Iarocav," followed by giving them a small black business card filled with some quick notes in silver text about the Drawkian culture and Iarocav himself. On the backside is the Drawkian flag. Iarocav's Card My name is Iarocav. No, there's no last name. I'm really old, semi-immortal. Last names were invented long after I was born. Yes, I'm tall. I'm 7 feet, 5 inches. All Drawkians are this tall. It's a bother when taking international trips, yes. Of course I'm going to say this, but I believe Drawkland is one of the greatest nations in the multiverse. We're certainly the greatest nation on our planet (or some call region) of Sonnel. I'm the Supreme Drawkionel, which basically means I'm in unilateral charge of most of my nation's decisions. Yes, there is still a parliament. Yes, we give our citizens many rights. They are a largely happy populous. Any more unique questions I am more than willing to answer.

All of these were fine modes of transportation for heads of state to arrive to the National Leaders' Mini-Golf competition in. Being Tor Tong Lee though meant that none of these were options. So Lee arrived riding on an ass. His caddy and Chief of Staff, Mitchell Hellewege, drove slowly behind him in one of Ilgana Automotive's electric SUV's. Hellewege wasn't exactly having too much fun, the asses ass bobbed back and forth in front of him, and the animal had pooped only about seven times since Lee had started riding it, having borrowed it from a local. Melee Kerman was the first foreign leader Lee greeted, Lee giving him a rather uncomfortably overeager handshake and a big smile. Next was Kyle Bolton. Like Lee, Bolton was a former footballer with, and captain of, the national team of his respective country. After the two exchanged stories of their footballing accomplishments, each trying to one-up the other, for about an hour, Lee finally moved on to greet another leader. Arijana Ibrahimovic and Lee exchanged a short but cordial greeting, being interrupted by the 7'5" Drawkian, Iarocav. Lee had to strain his neck just to make eye contact with the giant. With all of the other leaders having been greeted, Lee and Hellewege went off to a more secluded part of the staging area to talk strategy. "I though Amy would be here?" asked Lee. "Amy? Amy Yarley? Premier of Eura? Ha! She has plenty of more important things to do than play mini-golf," responded Hellewege with a chuckle. "Really? Apparently her reputation means nothing to her. When I win this competition I will be feared throughout all of the multiverse. Imagine, there's a trade dispute between us and some other country. We challenge them to a game of mini-golf, they lose said game, and we win trade dispute. No one gets killed, Rademacher¹ doesn't get to do anything, and I'm the hero." "Sure, whatever," said Hellewege, rolling his eyes. "Listen, we came here to have fun, now can you please just get on with it. We were supposed to start five minutes ago with Group 1, and there already on Hole 2 already!" "Oh, are they? Hey, wait for me!" ¹Joshua Rademacher, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs. Currently in dispute with President Lee over Darmeni membership in the Common Rushmori Community. The two do not get along, but Lee has refused to fire him for fear of splitting his governing coalition.

It was one thing to send delegations of athletes and support staff to sporting events where The Confederate Kingdom of West Phoenicia was starting to make inroads in a number of sports. As divine leader of the nation it was now his turn to make his people proud. He had arrived a day before the event. While he had a country to rule he was also undergoing plans to marry for the third time. West Phoenicia supported polygamy among the rich aristocracy classes he would soon bring another foreign princess into the mix. To further his strength in the region and produce additional offspring. The mini golf tournament would give him the opportunity to relax and unwind while bringing glory to West Phoenicia. And hopefully engage in some diplomacy with other foreign powers. One of his trusted aides had read over the list of those taking part; some names resulted in a smile others resulted in a thumbs down as being a step below barbarians. West Phoenicia One had been his transport to the event. Accompanying him was a 12 man team of Royal Imperial Troops. Princess Royal Arsinoe Bush II Philometar and Princess Arsinoe III Bush Urania; Two of his daughters from his union with his first wife were coming along to cheer him on. While his other nine children were busy with their own affairs and bringing anymore would have increased his security detail. 5 aides, a personal secretary, 2 chefs, a physician, a clergy member of the True Path faith and a priestess from the temple of Fortuna; the goddess of Fortune were among his delegation. A number of servants were on hand to take care of his every whim and his daughters had each brought 2 ladies in waiting, a mistress of the wardrobes and a royal hair dresser to take care of tjeir needs. Many nations mocked West Phoenicia for their manner of dress, their decadence and opulent aristocratic lifestyles. But it was the way of the aristocracy and the privileged to not only know they were better than the poor and working classes, but to flaunt it also. Two days into the tournament and he was ranked third. He was a little shaky to start knowing every hit or miss would be reported by the West Phoenician media and broadcasted back to West Phoenicia. He had to keep playing the best. His aim to take out the tournament.
