Posted Image Oh my god, Swithers! You made a chat location thread? Somewhat. Oh my dear Denizens... Treat it more like the World Assembly Bar rather than something wild from F7. This is a relaxed area where you can socialize with people outside your own haunt on NS. You don't need a character application. After all, you're playing yourself! That said, don't be a twit. Respect the setting. Respect each other. Salt and flames belong in Gameplay - Kaffeehaus is a neutral zone. Rules:

There weren't many commuters on the street outside the coffee shop. Not this early in the event. A bundle of blankets by the fire stirs and drifts apart to reveal a woman's pallid faced and dark eyes. "Oh, hullo, Gren!" A tiny hand emerges from the warm fleece to wiggle fingers at them. "You're the first to arrive. Welcome to the Madhouse booth and all." Swith cocks her head. "Wanna coffee?" Edited by Swith, Thu Dec 14, 2017 5:23 am.

A rather portly man slinks in with a backpack slung on one shoulder and a brown jacket on the other. He takes a corner booth for himself, setting his laptop out alongside a stack of books. "Don't mind me. I'll be here a while, got stuff due soon. Maybe pop in on the other booths if I have time," he glances around at the mostly-empty shop before his eyes return to the glow of the monitor. |

Walking into the Kaffeehaus to escape the below freezing temperatures outside, Lamoni noticed someone who seemed slightly familiar behind the counter. "Good day to you, Swith! I'd love a hot chocolate to ward off the chill from outside!" |

The old Asian man had finally arrived home only to discover he'd missed the run-up to the main event. Sighing, he dragged himself back to the coffee shop. "Evening, Lamoni!" It was always nice to see colleagues. "Agy, Gren." Nodding to the Volaworandian PM, and pointing to a sign near the barista's elbow which read 'no booze', he continued his path to the fireplace. |

Taking his drink and heading near the fireplace himself, Lamoni shivered as the feeling of cold started to leave his frame. Though he was dressed for the weather, no one ever seemed to be comfortable in the below freezing temperatures that had settled into the area at night. He personally had seen the temperature gauge on his cell phone drop all the way to 23 degrees F. While that was not the coldest that he had ever experienced, it was still fairly noteworthy, though the fire not only warmed his body, but made him forget the unpleasant thoughts that came with the cold. There had always been a human preoccupation with watching the flames and wondering what made them work, even though the process seemed to be fairly well understood these days. Fire after all, had been so many things to primitive man that it was no wonder that it was still revered today, on an unconscious level. Fire had meant light, warmth, the ability to cook, as well as a means of defense for the Neanderthals. Losing their fire back then might even mean having to leave one's cave in the face of a more aggressive group who still had their fire, living the life of a nomad who didn't even have a home to return to. This could be especially deadly during the winter, where it would be easy to die of exposure. Coming back to the present, Lamoni sat down at a table near the fire, and started sipping his hot chocolate, the warmth of the drink combining with the pleasant chocolate taste to make a wonderful companion during the long, cold, lonely night. It was then and only then that he noticed that his colleague Cerillium had been heading the same way. "What has been going on with you lately, Cerillium?" |

The door opens, and a man in s tuxedo steps in. He quickly shuts the door behind him. "Bloody cold out there! I knew I should have worn my overcoat " He looks over at the man sat by the fire. "Looks familiar" he thought. "Maybe a customer at the casino? No, maybe not..." He crosses the room to the counter. "Black coffee please. Yes, a big one. Vente, is that what you call them? Yeah, I'm just heading out to start my shift. But I need a large pick-me-up first." |

A ruffled-looking man peered out from under the table closest the fireplace. Sipping noises echoed overhead. He shifted his seat on the big wooden table leg again and leaned back against the trunk. |
