*Sweeps off thick coat of dust from furniture* It occurred to me while pinning our latest dispatch that we have allies who haven't heard from us in a while, and who might be interested in knowing what's going on, since they've been so nice to send us copies of the Lazarene Gazette and went to the trouble of giving us a consulate. Here's the link to the dispatch itself http://www.nationstates.net/page=dispatch/id=515031 Here's a bit of background for those of you who may not be entirely up to date on recent events: A short while ago, a region called "Esamir" which speaks Esperanto and seems to have a strange theocratic imperial oligarchy as a government invested and conquered Warzone Australia. Their reason for this was pretty much that they wanted a Warzone. After a lengthy back and fourth, the former native government was restored by a coalition of outside forces just before the zombie apocalypse. Then about three days ago, Warzone Sandbox was similarly invaded and occupied. A similar song and dance was made about how Esamir would be setting up their government and banning everyone who opposed it. The former natives fled to Warzone Africa. Yesterday, just after the WZSB government-in-exile had posted to everyone that their government was reconvening and intended to continue the struggle, in a remarkable bout of purely coincidental timing the relatively new Regional Officer in WZAF went rogue and couped the region, purging it of the WA population with seemingly no objective and certainly no way of seizing power for himself without outside help. Some comments were exchanged on the RMB via embassies about how much better off the Warzones are under Esamir. Thanks to the efforts of a loyalist RO, the region was since stabilized and the native government was allowed to return. Now, regardless of what role Esamir played in the WZAF debacle, the People's Republic of Warzone Asia has decided that Esamir appears to be a serious threat and now is the time to step up security. To this end we have declared a temporary state of emergency and passed legislation which will allow for the easier appointment of regional security officers. In addition, we have declared Esamir a hostile region under our constitution, which bars residents from holding dual citizenship and allows for the suppression of enemy propaganda as has been seen already in other Warzones. We have also taken this opportunity to overhaul our judicial code, officially withdrawing from the now largely defunct UWR and integrating the laws passed by their legislature into our own, in order to allow for future inter-Warzone unification initiatives as have been the subject of fierce discussion of late. So that's the situation in Warzone Asia today. Best wishes to Lazarus. |

That's a damn shame. I founded Esamir with a puppet once and let it die before they refounded it. Should've kept it alive. |

Looks like you're right - the rogue RO was indeed in cahoots with Esamir, and both are back in Warzone Australia. A question: Should the invading force pose a threat to WZAS, will the LLA be deployed to reinforce Campbell's government? |
