I have come here to chew bubblegum and write a biased article. And I'm all outta propaganda.

If anyone has a problem with the bias, I can tone it down. Also, I'm using the old LG logo because nostalgia, will we ever get a new one?

(keep in mind that I haven't written an LG article in literally a year- it's good to be back in the saddle)

KRULL PACKS HIS BAGS
NPO's tinpot finally gets tired of rule

You heard it here, folks- Krulltopia is finally gone. You can emerge from your hiding spots now.

This monday, Pierconium announced in Gameplay that their beloved Krulltopia, Emperor of the New Pacific Order, was stepping down. Krulltopia presided over the Pacific for over six years, a period of time where any other GCR would have around 10 different Delegates. During this period, the Pacific stagnated a good bit in terms of activity while the NPO Senate schemed behind closed doors. More specifically, with the help of two people who shalt not be named, the NPO managed to pull off a coup of Lazarus. Luckily, comrade Kazmr took back the region in a marvelous plot after infiltrating the "New Lazarene Order", the biggest puppet state since the People's Republic of Lazarus, but this time more overt.

Pierconium, also known as Ivan, has appointed Elegarth, a controversial figure in Gameplay due to his less than transparent 'win' of the Premiership in the West Pacific and his less-than-friendly attitude, to the NPO's Senate, and has also appointed him as the "Senator of Diplomacy", which means if you are a Delegate dealing with the NPO (why are you dealing with the NPO?), he'll be the face of the whole mess. It also calls into question that fact that Elegarth left because of his hostile Ivan has also appointed Aleisyr as Viceroy, in order to help carry out changes in the 'provisional government system' that he is planning to introduce soon.

Meanwhile, Krull hit the rails, travelling to every GCR and posting a brief message that equates to 'hello', earning himself a cheeky ban in TEP from Ramaeus, and as of right now, Krull is fooling around in the North Pacific. Reactions from players have mostly been the obligatory "good luck, mate" with a statement from Kazmr that the NPO's new tinpot won't find a friend in Lazarus anytime soon. Ivan has quickly taken to taunting enemies of the NPO, urging them to try and do something about it, which he is totally in the right position to do, taking over The Pacific would not be an easy thing.

Krull's departure marks the end of an era for the Pacific, a particularly long era that lasted longer than many GP careers. Perhaps Ivan will be different, more of an activity booster this time. Or not. Probably not. And while warm farewells from raiders and imperialists display on the forum, after their almost successful takeover of Lazarus, the reaction here will probably be along the lines of, in the words of the wonderful Munchkins of Oz: Ding dong, the witch is dead!

I HAVE CHORTLES!
I like it. I really do. I mean, I love putting in my own snarky remarks for articles of this nature (in fact I did that with the one I only just submitted, but perhaps it ought to be toned down a bit. This article is largely one big snarky "screw you" to the NPO (which is cool, I love that) but I get the impression there's a lack of professionalism here.

This is the Gazette. we do not hold ourselves to the standards of publications like TRT.

The 2nd paragraph needs a little work IMO. You should mention why Elegarth is a controversial figure. You should also ask why someone who left NPO due to their hostile actions toward another GCR is so happy to immediately be brought back in as Senator.

" in the words of the great John McCain: "So long, jackass!"" This may be a little too strong. Maybe you should take a quote from the movie Friday: "Bye Felicia".

To add to that, too many RL references. Not everyone reading will be from Lazarus, and some of the below paragraphs could be more concise and straightforward.

Alright, I see. I will be making most of these edits probably, but (why are you dealing with the NPO?) is totally staying. That there is the magnum opus of all my writings.

You can keep it in if you like, the main issues were with the other parts of paragraph 2, as well as 1 and 4.

I have a few issues with the second paragraph:
Quote:

Pierconium, also known as Ivan, has appointed Elegarth, a controversial figure in Gameplay due to his less than transparent 'win' of the Premiership in the West Pacific and hisless-than-friendly attitude,* to the NPO's Senate, and has also appointed him as the "Senator of Diplomacy", which means if you are a Delegate dealing with the NPO (why are you dealing with the NPO?), he'll be the face of the whole mess. It also calls into question that fact that Elegarth left because of his hostile Ivan** has also appointed Aleisyr as Viceroy, in order to help carry out changes in the 'provisional government system' that he is planning to introduce soon.

*Are you sure? Elegarth has been very nice to me :P
** incomplete phrase

On a side note: We should probably work to get the gazette out ASAP to keep the stories fresh.

edit: Also pls remove that seal :P

Actually, both of those were incomplete statements, sorry :p

I actually don't fully know the reasons behind Elegarth's controversial status... it's because of his attitude, right? I was going to include his shady 'win' in TWP, but I don't know if too many people care about that.

And what do you mean by seal?
