Unlike other potential candidates, I believe that most of you know me or at least have the gist of what I'm all about. Question/comment: While I liked a lot of what happened during the festival and participated in many of the events, there were some things that didn't get carried out or completed, most notably for me, the promise of more interaction on the NS site/Regional message board. As the head organizer of this event, what did you learn from this, what would you change if you did again, and do you have ideas for something similar in the future?

The Festival was actually pretty stressful for me. Following the demand and excitement for such an event, I was really expecting more people to volunteer to help carry it out. People had no problem suggesting events, but when it came to volunteering, it was really a case of "don't everyone jump at once...". While some of the events were fun and brought activity to the new regional community, I consider it an embarrassing failure of mine. I was left to run it nearly by myself, regional advertising of the festival was nearly non-existent, and regional participation was low in my opinion. I even moaned a bit about it and people were more than happy to tell me "welcome to sinkers". I don't want to fail like that again. Next time, I'd twist more arms to ensure that such a festival be more properly staffed and coordinated. Maybe we can have a regional luau to close out the summer with later this month. Or possibly a back-to-school celebration to torture our younger Lazarenes with
