Bogus. The main problem isn't necessarily the rights and privileges it gives these indigenous people, though that is overeaching, but it also applies to currently "undiscovered" people. Way too broad, which seems common with GA resolutions. |

This is going to be nail biting... As a future Human rights advocate (thinking to study LLM in Human rights), I think all people share the same rights. The only difference that can exist between indigenous and foreigners is that the latter ones cant obtain the political rights since they are not citizens of the country they live in. About the nationality issue (it has been raised in my country because the coalition of the government is attempting to pass a law about giving nationality to the immigrants of second generation), I believe that immigrants should "self-determined" it. What do I mean is that if they really feel that they are ie more Greeks than ie Nigerians and they can proove why they feel like that, they can obtain nationality after some years. |

Looks like the tide has turned against it. Judging from the forums, there seems to be a sizable portion of voters who think this vote is a waste of time since a similar measure from the same person was passed only to be quickly repealed. But it seems that the opposition to this comes from both sides: some say it is too vague and doesn't do enough while many others don't like it on principal. |
