Despite Italy's relative weakness, a southern front in France would allow Germany to knock France out of the war. In spite of the continuing UK naval blockade, Germany turns its attention to helping the Austro-Hungarians and Ottomans defeat Russia and overrun the independant states of the Balkans. With no foothold on the mainland, the UK accepts a negotiated peace; the Bolshevik Revolution still happens. Germany grants Poland and the Baltic States independence in order to create a buffer between the West and the new Soviet Union. World War 2 breaks out when Joseph Stalin insults the aging Kaiser Wilhelm II in 1939. What if the US forces in Hawaii had got (and acted on) 15 minutes of warning before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor began? Edited by Loftegen, May 27 2016, 07:23 PM.

I believe the difference (in case of a counterattack) would be negligible, although many could be saved, to give an example, USS Arizona. In other words, the US probably couldn't have attacked back in such short span a time, though ground-based troops and the navy could mobilize in that short instance, which could save several thousands' lives. What if the United States entered in a union with Canada and Mexico today, with 5 years of preparation? |

After some teething trouble, especially in the new southern states (sorry, Mexico, but there's a lot of corruption to be weeded out), the newly enlarged United States, with 50% more people and vastly more land and resources, regains its place as the worlds largest economy. What if the USSR hadn't backed down during the Cuban Missile Crisis? |

The Americans would have. Nukes in Cuba. What if Caesar Augustus' forces had won at Teutoburg Forest? |

With crushing victory over the germanic tribes, Publius Quinctilius Varus was able to continue Roman colonization efforts east of the Rhine. However, the rot beginning to take hold in the Empire still led to collapse, so the only significant difference is more Roman ruins in western and southwestern Germany. What if the Union had won the Battle of Fredricksburg? |

They would have probably won the war sooner? What if Japan was the world's super power? |
