Some have suggested electing the executive offices of the Cabinet. How do people feel about this?

I personally would prefer the Cabinet to be appointed with the possible exception of a few key positions.

I don't have anything else to add, so I'll just agree with Kaz and Cormac :P

Perhaps a compromise by having executive appointment with legislative confirmation (and maybe impeachment)? That way the executive is able to appoint those they trust but hopefully makes them accountable as well?
This, really. ^_^

Well, Im from TSP, and an elected Cabinet works everytime. Mainly because they get along(if Wolf had been elected, imagine the horror. He and the Cabinet, of what I've seen, don't get along. Unibot even tried to put criminal charges on Wolf for things he did in the past, when Wolf was not a citizen). And I like Kazmr's idea.
