There seems to be a consensus so far that term limits are a good idea, but how many has ranged from 2 up to 4. What do you all think? Personally, I am fine with 2, 3, or 4. |

I think three four month terms, to bring a maximum term to one year.

This might sound kind of out there, but what about one six-month term? One of the best aspects of a more centralized government is the unity of direction that it provides...the opportunity for the executive to go in the direction they feel is best with a minimum of conflict and political infighting. Obviously a disadvantage can be having an executive that's not accountable to anyone, but I thought perhaps this would be a good middle ground. Six months is a good amount of time to get things accomplished, and not having to worry about re-election would be liberating for the executive in a way. On the other hand, it guarantees that the position changes hands with each election and that no one person could sit in the position and accumulate power for too long. In the meantime, if an executive were to go completely off-track, I imagine there would be recall provisions to deal with those circumstances. It's a little out there, but I thought it was worth proposing. |

I would certainly not like to be locked into that long of a term. Two months is a big difference. |

I agree that it's a big difference, but in my experience most executives decide to run for re-election unless they've become mired in controversy or have become too busy outside NS...cases where personally, to me, a resignation would make sense under a six-month system. I know some people see resigning as worse than just not being re-elected, though. |

1 six month term or 2 three month term limit is favorable in my opinion. No one should be in power for longer than 6 months on NS. |

I could support either two three month terms, or two four month terms. I don't think going beyond eight consecutive months is a good idea, particularly for security reasons related to endorsements and regional influence. I do agree that a single term of six months is too long to ask people to lock themselves in for, and will probably lead to either a lot of mid-term resignations or a lot of mid-term inactivity. |

2 four month terms of 8 months would be a perfect mathematical compromise between the proposal for up to 6 months and the one for up to a year, incidentally. |

Wintermoot has been in power for almost 2 years v_v I believe 2 three month terms or 2 four month terms would be fine compromises. |

I'd prefer 2-4 month terms too and a certain level/amount of changes that need to be made in the rest of the executive if re-elected. |
