I HAVE CHORTLES!
The Church of Satan for Chairman
Fresh, dedicated and ready to serve

Lazarenes, we now face dark times. We've been thrown out of our home and lost our rights. I admit that even I have been somewhat discouraged, but I remain adamant that we can regain our home!

I've spent the majority of my time in Lazarus serving the people of Lazarus and I've rather enjoyed it. My first job here was serving as the Chief of State Police, where the security of the region was my only obligation. I did quite well too, tracking down several threats and nations whose endorsement counts were concerning.

However some time later, I was appointed Judicial District Governor. While that was quite honestly a job with which we hadn't needed the services of, I was trusted to be a member of The State Council. I always made sure to be punctual for State Council Meetings. I attended each of them and made sure my presence was known.

After Falsea was no longer our Culture Governor, I saw fit to fill a position that we needed. And so I transferred to The Cultural District and proceeded to work on restoring The Cultural District. I am confident when I say that it is far more improved than we've had for some time. Even here in exile, I continue to serve as your Cultural Governor. It's a job I find engaging and fun.

However, I have served in various regional governments in various positions over the last 445 days, nearly 2 years working in media, foreign affairs, cultural and legislative. In that time I believe I have gained the experience necessary to serve as your Chairman. I now have the diplomatic, analytic, cultural and legal skill one needs to serve as Chairman. More importantly, my dedication to serving the residents of Lazarus has never been more apparent than it is now. Yes, I was momentarily discouraged, but it takes a strong person to admit such things. The needs of the people of Lazarus come before the needs, wants and desires of myself. It wouldn't be inaccurate to say that I've wanted to serve as the delegate of a region for a long time, but only during this year have I been able to say that I am ready for the responsibilities of being a delegate and your Chairman.

I respect all of the candidates here and it is my honor to fight alongside them for our right to remain in Lazarus without fear of oppression. Funkadelia made a fantastic Chairman and I'm sure he would do just as good if not better now than he did before.

Ainin and Cam have both served honorably here in Lazarus. There is no doubt in my mind that they too would make good delegates. Frankly each of the candidates, myself included, are good choices.

But the revolution needs a fresh face. If I posted a picture of my face, I'd say "This is that face." But...pretend there's a face here that happens to be mine. That face is indeed the fresh face Lazarus needs. So please, when you decide whom you shall vote for, allow me the honor of serving as your Chairman, especially during our most trying time. It's time the revolution had a new leader. Together, I'd like to fight the good fight as the person that puts the people before himself.

Greetings!

1) You say that the revolution needs a fresh face, but you also say that Funkadelia would do as good if not better than he did previously. Why do you feel it's more important that we select a 'fresh face' over a candidate that has served as Chairman before, has already gone through trials by fire in the Osiris-Lazarus war, and is currently leading the Underground State as Spokesperson? What exactly would you bring to the Chairmanship that he doesn't?

2) What are your plans to ensure that the Underground State is sustainable in what could be a very long fight to reclaim the region?

3) What do you feel the greatest weakness of the Underground State at the moment, and how do you plan on rectifying it?

1.) Could anybody honestly say Funk wouldn't make a fine Chairman? I'd scarcely call the Osiris-Lazarus "war" a trial by fire. It was a cold war and if anybody would have been stupid enough to make the first military move, it would have been Cormac (no offense to Cormac). Funk saw the futility of taking military action against a fellow GCR and frankly I know he was right.

As you know by now, things started going down hill when Funk was banned for speaking out about the illegal change of the flag. One could say that if Funk were elected Chairman it would serve to fuel a personal beef between him and Stu. Now of course saying such a thing is a stretch, but you know as well as I do that our enemies would take any chance they could to say it. I mean, Balder already had the audacity to say the PRL was never legitimate, just because it was the result of expelling some of their own residents from the region.

If anything, I bring a fresh perspective to the Chairmanship. Like pretty much any defender nowadays, I've participated in my fair share of coups, fighting for the regions right to govern itself (I believe 2 Osiris coups). Although fighting a coup from the viewpoint of the native this time is definitely a new experience for me. I think I'm ready to handle this as Chairman though.

2.) To be honest I don't think the natives of Lazarus need any help staying in this fight. Like me they are adamant about regaining our home. I believe they have all they need to keep going. Those with whom we have treaties with will of course stay in the fight. Their dedication to helping us is as strong as our own. The volunteers are the ones that need encouraging. All the newbies that have come in to help out, they've never done anything like this and I feel they expect this to be over quickly. I'll be sure to keep their spirits up, encouraging them every step of the way. To see so many new people getting into R/D is something I never thought I'd see myself and they are invaluable to our cause.

3.) Our greatest weakness? We are not home! We will all rectify that though. Frankly I think as a result of this coup, we have never been stronger, more fierce or more determined. Not to say that the coup is a good thing, but an unintended "side-affect" if you will, is that it has made us better than ever before.

Thank you Ainin. I wish you good luck in the elections as well. :)

While the Osiris-Lazarus war didn't see much military action, there was significant internal and diplomatic activity as well as more than a fair share of gameplay drama. Wars are never just conflicts between armies, but conflicts between governments and communities which a leader also has to manage. That's what I meant by 'trial by fire'. :P

In any case, thank you for your answers. I'll ask more if I think up of any other questions that could sway my vote. :)

Have fun, good luck. You'd have my vote if I were a citizen, but that's certain not to happen.
