I am writing to you both as a Lazarene Citizen and as the leader of one of the People's Republic's oldest allies, Wintreath. I still remember how the People's Republic approached Wintreath with the offer of an alliance before it was even a month old. Once our treaty was drafted, Lazarus had to wait a month while we formed a government to ratify it! I have always remembered that and tried to ensure Wintreath remained a steadfast ally to Lazarus in its times of need. We have supported the People's Republic through Griffin Somerset's attempt to seize the delegacy, through the Osiris-Lazarus War, and now through this conflict, spurred by the betrayal of the person Lazarenes trusted to lead them. Now we've come to a fork in the road that leads to two possible futures for Lazarus. One future, led by the government in exile, returns the region to normalcy: a sovereign, respected region led by the rule of law and opportunity for anyone that will work and contribute to the region. The other, led by Stujenske and his masters in the New Pacific Order, transforms the region into a permanent outpost for a group that months ago celebrated the 11th anniversary of their ironclad rule over their own region. One can only wonder what this region will look like after 11 years of their rule, but I can assure you it will be nothing good for anyone that wants to see Lazarus as an independent region. Many of Lazarus's other allies and partners, including Wintreath, have made our wishes clear: we want Lazarus to return as an independent and sovereign state free of foreign influence and interference. We will offer our steadfast support where we can: diplomatically, militarily, and morally. To date, the Frozen Realm has declared four individuals persona non grata, severed relations with one region, supported the WA proposal "Condemn Stugenske", and began debate on banning Citizenship in the New Pacific/Lazarene Order. But only we, as residents of Lazarus can choose where we want this region to go. We must continue to put up a steadfast fight in all areas: culturally, diplomatically, and militarily. We must continue to be the Lazarus that ourselves and the world wants to have over a static Pacifican autocracy. And most importantly, we must not become apathetic or lose hope. This fight may last weeks, months, or even years, but it will never end until one side gives up. So long as the community remains active and united for the cause of liberation, the tyrants that hold the delegacy will never truly win.
