Hey all!

I am excited that we are coming to the end of piecing together the final bits of our new system here in Lazarus. I have been working hard with Funk and others for awhile now to lay the groundwork for our region to prosper and I am feeling optimistic about our future under the newly revised constitution. I have big plans for the future of Lazarus and I believe electing me as our first Viceroy will allow these ideas to be actualized sooner rather than later. Below I will break down my ideas/plans into sections relevant to our Districts and will also mention the type of candidates I will be looking at for my Governor appointments. I will also include what I've already accomplished thus far in the region in these areas and where I hope to build upon.

So let's begin!

Culture District:

The most recent development here has been our regional map. I worked with Bran Astor, Guardian and Minister of Internal Affairs, from our allies in The West Pacific to bring our region its new map. This is an effort to begin forming some sort of organized roleplay system within our region. I know we have a few Citizens who are eager to participate in nation roleplay here in Lazarus and I am excited to see how we can utilize our new map to sustain that part of our community. Roleplay on this scale isn't something that should be left to one person and I will look for a candidate for this District's Governor that will seek to brainstorm with the region as a whole and collaborate on the foundation of the procedure and rules surrounding our national roleplay scheme.

I intend to work with whoever I choose as Governor to establish minor roles within the District of Culture to supplement regional polling, welcoming new nations to the region, posting on the RMB, etc. An active, consistent effort gameside will allow us to not only engage residents and incite them to participate, but also integrate those who are interested in something more than answering issues into our community. These efforts will also correlate with a program I intend to establish region-wide that I will mention later on in this post.

Finally, the District of Culture also oversees our regional newspaper (for the moment at least). Working alongside my chosen Governor of this District and the chosen Governor of the Diplomacy District, I will pursue an active staff of writers who can pursue and accomplish deadlines in order for us to reestablish some form of regular embassy updates. We have been absolutely negligent in this area and I think it has been the focus of one major update instead of focusing on smaller more frequent updates that has set us back. I think we should, of course, still have an all-encompassing monthly update, but a good start for us to get the ball rolling will be to write updates of recent happenings in the region as they happen and get them out there to our embassies.

Diplomacy District:

Speaking of embassies, we are actually getting some traction with them now. As Regent under the Undead Dominion, I was essentially working foreign affairs as my primary focus. This was partly because we did not have a designated Necromancer at the time and mostly because I have a vision of what our foreign affairs department can and should be. Before the changes, I had reestablished the guidelines for our ambassadors that I wrote for our FA minister during our stint as the Celestial Union and also began enlisting Citizens to the role and assigning them appropriately. Though these were just some basic steps (that we need to continue past our brief lapse from the amendment), I also had a primary goal of establishing treaties. During this time, I was a major part in the formation of both the Treaty of Regenesis and the Chol Covenant. Though still in our early stages, I believe these treaties will prove to significantly grow our relations with Balder and The West Pacific which can and has only benefited us.

The primary goal of this term will be to efficiently assign ambassadors to embassies as needed, post consistent updates to those embassies (working with the Culture District), and pursue additional embassies that we may not have already established. When first approaching our foreign affairs, I initially focused on recreating the forum embassies with regions we have in-game embassies with and once that is maintained sufficiently we should push beyond that to new regions.

Military District:

This has been a quiet area in Lazarus for a long time now. I have been discussing the possibility of joint-operations with our new allies in The West Pacific for a couple weeks now and it is something both parties are eager to pursue. We have a few things we need to do before we can start operations again though. The Governor I choose for the Military District will be able to work with me to create a concise and easy to understand ranking system for our military. I have spoken with our resident artist Imki about creating some flashy rank badges for our troops and I have some ideas for "achievement" type medals/ribbons that can be awards based on milestones for those participating in the military. The focus in this District will be recruitment and doing as many operations as possible as frequently as possible.

High Court:

As of right now, it is implied by law that the High Court resides within the Directorate and therefore the Viceroy will appoint the Inquisitor. I think this is something that the Assembly should address, for the sake of maintaining an aspect of permanence in such a prestigious and important position within the region. Regardless, I intend to appoint someone who is not only well-versed in our new laws, but has extensive experience in this sort of capacity in NationStates as a whole. It's important that we have someone more than capable to handle the business of the High Court.

Lots of stuff right? Well, just a bit more.

Two major things that I will be pursuing during this term are the following:

For several weeks now, I have been in communication with representatives from The West Pacific and Balder about organizing a joint festival between our regions. This will be a celebration of our new treaties and the bonding of our communities as a whole. There will be more details about this following the election as the details are hashed out and a schedule is in place.

Also, once our Districts have each addressed their own concerns, I would like to finally establish my mentorship program in the region (some of you may have noticed the mentor question on our citizenship application). This will be a region-wide program encompassing all Districts and facets of Lazarus. The concept is to have individuals who have served in their District for long enough and well enough that they can be deemed 'Mentors'. They will then inherit the responsibility of mentoring new citizens within their District in different jobs, in Lazarene culture, NationStates, and tasked with introducing them and getting them involved in the community. Joining a region as big as Lazarus can seem daunting and overwhelming for new people and this program seeks to not only integrate new members, but easily allow them to feel comfortable here.

tl;dr: Newspaper stuff, mentor program, festival, military ranks and ops, consistent newspaper/embassy updates, roleplay on the new map, and lots and lots of posting things together

Feel free to ask me questions!

I know if I ran against you I would lose, but I'd don't care because I know you will be a great Viceroy! :)
