The South had crawled to a stop and was going down the raider rollercoaster, so figured I'd go someplace a bit more stable. Silly thought, no? Please describe your history on NationStates: I started with little interest in regional politics. As Eastern Europe shrunk, I ended up defaulting as the WA Delegate, having to fend off some raider attacks, and then was properly elected as the delegate. For the next few years Eastern Europe kept getting invaded in part due to its small size and in part due to my lack of activity - hard to employ what little power I had when I wasn't around frequently. I thus asked for a new election to be held, under which an old protege of mine took the seat. He did well for a few months, and then also fell into the hole of inactivity. At this point, a new nation popped up, sending me tg's and pestering me about becoming delegate. Fresh blood is good, so I encouraged it, but got a creepy vibe from the incessent chess references and mentions of "long plans" from the nation. He ended up taking the delegate spot and wasted no time in kicking out everyone he feasibly could to try and refound the region. I helped organize some form of resistance, and as the most senior nation with any WA experience helped get a liberation resolution passed. Banned nations moved back in, raiders lost all interest in the region, and a sense of normalcy returned for a while. But, calls for refounding began to show up on the RMB, I'd get TG's asking for my help in removing the liberation from relatively active members of the region, and I slowly realized that while I had thought I won the war, the heart of the region - its nations, had decided that it was all some ploy to keep my absurd amount of influence around (I had not left the region in a good decade at this point and had been endorsed by most local WA nations the entire time). Well, I did what I thought I had to do - begged and pleaded for the fools not to cut their own heads off, but they insisted. We passed a liberation repeal, Eastern Europe was refounded, and one of the defenders who had helped me get some of the SC legislation passed invited me to the South as it seemed more up to my speed. I stayed there until it too lost all activity and started getting attacked by raiders. And here I am now in a region large enough to avoid the issues of raiders, I hope. How long have you played NationStates: That's a tough one - on and off, but around 15 years now. Would you like to be assigned a mentor: No thank you. What areas of the region interest you the most (Foreign Affairs, Internal Affairs, Writing/Newspaper, Roleplay, Government/Legislation): Internal Affairs, Government/Legistlation Regions you are and have been involved in: Eastern Europe, The South Any crimes you may have committed in in those regions and others: Hmm, perhaps some folks in Eastern Europe might have considered some of my actions criminal, but that was a long time ago.
