The International Newsletter of The Independent Order. Offsite Forum Our Discord Our Current Government Grand Chancellor: Beatrice Vice Chancellor: CGJ Premier: Matthew Vinage Vice Premier: SatanLord Minister for Home Affairs: Yolotan Minister for Foreign Affairs: Tama Speaker of the Assembly: Zee Lord Chief Justice: Achkaerin Roleplay Moderator: DaveIronside WA Delegate election furore Various Orderians clamour to nominate themselves for the Delegacy, with varying degrees of success The recent WA Delegate election in the Independent Order has taken a somewhat surreal turn in the past couple of days. After Grand Chancellor Beatrice's nation CTEd, the Delegacy became open - the role has been filled on an interim basis for a few weeks by Old Tellarian Empire. Recently, however, it was decided that an election to fill the role on a permanent basis should be called to further ensure that an active, willing member was in the Delegacy and not just a random nation. The election was called on Monday, with five candidates putting their names forward: Neu Urburzis, New Canaanite, Bluelight-R006, Lampasas and Old Tellarian Empire. In the end, Bluelight swept to victory in the polls, gaining 18 votes - twice as many as nearest challenger Neu Urburzis. However, recently Bluelight was ejected from the WA for rules violations, and also experienced one or two accusations of voter fraud (though this is hitherto unproven). Rather than call another election, Neu Urburzis was announced as Delegate so as not to delay the process further. So, after some controversy, the Order finally has its new Delegate, and is looking forward to new interaction in the WA as well as renewed domestic initiatives - stay tuned! IN OTHER NEWS: Political Parties Act Passes! The Regional Assembly recently voted to pass the Political Party Registration and Regulations Act. The new act will give political parties, of which there is only 1 so far, official recognition in the region. The parties will receive a number of perks such as their own private discord channel and a joinable group on the forum. I personally hope that the act will create more interest in politics in the region and that people with similar views on what direction the region should take will be able to co-operate to create a vision and sell it to the electorate. RP NEWS...The Lifeblood of the Order MUNDUS IS GETTING WET - A huge natural disaster is about to befall the world of Mundus. East Moreland scientists have spotted a humongous ice shelf collapsing. It's effects are likely to impact the nations of the northern hemisphere in the coming days by causing a tsunami, danger to shipping and eventually as it heads south sea level raises. Nations frantically try and defend their coasts but will it be too late? Neu Uburzi's Meet the Other Monarchies - The nation of Neu Uburzi's is hosting a dinner for the other monarchies on Mundus in what is hoped to establish relations for the nation but also to serve as a build up to the Coronation of the new monarch at a later date, so far it's been an interesting experience for the guests with many now wondering what the food will be like. Utman Take a Stand - The Utman ethnic minority people in Lakhzovia have declared independence from the Lakhzovian state, this being the latest in a series of troubling events within the country including suppression of election results, a siege at the Rokkenjiman embassy and now this. The international community begins to react to the situation. What Are You Worth? - Come to the darkness inside Zimalia and witness a slave auction, who knows who will be there and what will happen. Carpenter Has Left the Building - Tim Carpenter has been ousted from his position as Secretary General at the CTO, it looked like he'd have to face a vote of no confidence but was instead persuaded to resign. This leaves the organisation in Limbo until a replacement is appointed or elected. Champions League Knockout Round Begins - Just sixteen teams are left in the competition now and it's getting towards the serious time as the teams play their first knockout matches trying to get the advantage for the second legs of their ties. Mundus Media Achkaerin Braces For Flood - Achkaerin is bracing for the impending tsunami caused by the Morris Ice Shelf, and it's not just them as Himeyama, Bykrestan and others also prepare. Major Drugs Haul in Kaitaine - the KGB have made a huge drugs bust worth what they claim to be $32 million. Quite how reliable that figure is is as yet unclear but the Pravda will certainly keep Mundus informed. Mercian Queen Unhappy - Queen Alexandria of Mercia is not pleased with the Iwi for what appears to be a violation of international law and unlawful arrest. The issue has since attracted international attention, with several nations being concerned about this. Game of Queens - Bookies have opened betting on who the next Queen of East Moreland will be, there are plenty of possibilities, some more remote than others though the inclusion of King Leonard of Vaguzia on the list is rather an interesting one. Bookies across Mundus will be hoping that this is not realized as they would stand to lose a lot of money. And finally...Tweet of the week In honor of the possibility of King Leonard being the next 'Queen' of East Moreland we offer this TIO Meme as our updates 'tweet of the week' Thank you for reading!
