In light of the court impasse and general consensus that the Mandate should be amended, I propose this re-write.

Perhaps recalls should simply require a supermajority.

@Amerion maybe high office or something like that? I'm sure there's a good term somewhere

I'm not sure if recalls should require a super-majority. If a simple majority do not want an official in office by voting for a majority; the official has lost the confidence of the region and can no longer lead effectively or arguably, with a mandate.

Nice term, I'll change it to High Office

I'd also like your (and everyone's) opinion on the Court and how we confirm them.

I am in favour of electing our Justices through the same process as we do with the Convenor, etc. As it stands, it puts too much power to the Sovereign who can, if he desires, stack the Court with whoever he favours. Essentially the Executive has a direct hand in selecting the Judiciary.

If we aspire for true Separation of Powers (or at the very least, something as close to it as possible) then we should, in my opinion, allow the citizenry choose their judicial nominees directly.

Can we settle on a majority vote needed to recall Prelates? :)

It's a serious decision to recall anyone occupying a high office, and to do so, it certainly seems to me that there should be immense support for the action. A simple majority is, methinks, a bit too easy to attain when dealing with something as important as a recall. I'm sure no one wants frequent and overly political recalls, thus it is best to at least require a 3/4ths majority.
