[PROPOSAL] Amendment to the Mandate; Re: Powers of the Celestial Being | |

My proposed amendments are as follows:
These amendments are a simple clarification of what most of us already knew to be true: that the Celestial Being is legally bound to obey the votes of the citizens in all elections, confirmations, etc. While I still maintain that this is the case regardless of the status of the above clauses, it would be better to remove them to clarify that the voice of the people is supreme. When we were establishing this mandate, a major concern that several of us had was limiting the power of the Celestial Being. We were assured by the authors that the CB would be almost exclusively a Roleplay based position, and I specifically asked whether the votes of the citizens would be able to be trumped by the Celestial Being, and I was told that that would not be the case. The best course of action is to amend the Mandate to fulfill that spirit, especially where the "discretion" clauses also directly contradict the far more forceful language used to tie the assent of the Celestial Being to electoral/voting results. |

So CoS can't play the "I've been here forever" card when we're talking about his positions and simple activity but you can, when we're talking about voter importation no less? Being here a long time doesn't make you any less liable to current events. Seriously, what a pathetic sham. |

Whether a month, a year, or five years, it makes no one less liable for their own corruption when it reveals itself. |

Ha. So you want me to say that I can be insulted and called a traitor to Lazarus all because I'm in LWU and you have a bone to pick with people callinig out CoS? I can also direct you to the same cliff. |

CoS isn't the one suspected of partaking in an effort to subvert our region's democracy. I also don't think too many people will take kindly to your advocating suicide. Edited by Ike, Jul 18 2017, 04:29 AM.

You're right, Amerion is. Until you stop spouting and start providing actual evidence to back-up your claims other than the fact we're a different R/D alignment, you're really accomplishing nothing. Your suspicion is inherently biased because of your views towards members of LWU or any non-defender region for that matter. Edited by Lamb, Jul 18 2017, 04:36 AM.

I don't think anyone is calling you a traitor to the region, KK. In fact you've been here ever before I moved myself into Lazarus from my founding. From my time observing from the sidelines I always assumed you'd be a cooler head on which to prevail during what to me seem to be unwarranted and unfounded attacks between members of the region. I'm sorry to say I don't really know what is going on with all the argument and what seems to me misdirection in Lazarus recently, but I for one don't care for it at all. No matter how far back into Lazarus history I try to go, the more conflicting stories I receive. |

You're correct, I am. No doubt due to some meddling on your end. It would be rather convenient for you and Funk if I were found guilty of those trumped up charges, considering I would be removed as Guardian and barred from office. One less figure to oppose your blatant efforts to consolidate whatever agenda you have. |

The logs are pretty clear what your intentions are. You can try the pity party all you want pal. |

Keep to the topic at hand please. EW, people don't understand the 'jump off a cliff' saying. Possibly take it down a notch. Edited by Drop Your Pants, Jul 18 2017, 12:56 PM.

I do agree here. While I think KK is not taking part in a coup in my knowledge, and I do have trust in KK, I also think that you cannot play the 'I've been her for a long time' card. If you can use it successfully than CoS should be able to use it and be successful. It's dissapointing how I've noticed that some things that happen here are okay when you do them, but not okay when others do them. |
