So this is something i've noticed with the current ongoing votes, people are joining and immediately voting on the current votes. Now i'm not saying thats a bad thing, its good to be involved. But the sudden mass applications of citizen requests is a bit fishy. I propose that any citizen application accepted during or directly before can't vote in the elections, and possibly can't vote in major election if they join Lazarus within a few days of voting. It's something we had in previous Mandates. Someone else can do the official wording. |

Agreed. I think the least we had from all our past Mandates was at least 5 days? |

I don't know, maybe in lieu of a recruitment program we can just keep having votes on things and trust that more people will come out of the woodwork. I think this is a fine idea, though. |

This is a great idea and is quite apparent due to the rapid amounts of new councillors popping in at the moment and voting in topics that I'm not sure they know about- hence why CoS was not elected as Prelate. I was one of those new people (and technically still am), but them hopping on and voting right away before the vote closes is, as a security issue, something that should be fixed. Or fixed at least for major Elections. |

I agree. Anyway, we have a clause specifically prohibiting participating in regular/special election voting periods for citizens who join during the period in the Elections Act. I think we can just replicate this, but pertaining to legislation specifically in the Legislative Procedures act instead of a constitutional amendment (since we have the same thing for elections that we didn't do with a Mandate amendment). I'd like to make an official proposal amending the Legislative Procedures Act with the following addition:
This would be consistent with the wording we used in the Elections Act which was this:
I think this is a better solution than a timeframe that prohibits the participation in CC activities altogether, as the main thing we're addressing here is concerning on-going votes. Edited by Lamb, Jul 15 2017, 06:32 PM.

Fully agree with this. It seems like an oversight that it wasn't included in the mandate already. |

I think this is more than appropriate and should be put in place as soon as possible. |
