Currently, the way we vote in the Council is to publically declare aye, nay, or abstain. I propose that we can consider an option to move to a poll system. |

I'm for a poll system, so long as the councillors votes are still made available to the voting members either prior to or post voting. |

Is there a hard time limit we can set on polls? If not, I don't believe this is a better solution. We occasionally have an issue with vote threads staying open a little too long after the vote has officially closed, allowing people to cast invalid votes. These are much easier to catch when we're voting how we have been. I don't really see anything wrong with how we've been voting for a long time now Edited by Lamb, Jul 3 2017, 08:42 PM.

I tried a test thread to see if you can close a poll. You can't. As such, I agree with Lamb. The logistics are too hard if we were to move to a poll system. |

The workaround is move the poll to a read only forum section once voting is done. |

True, but that still goes back to timely moderation which isn't always possible. When extra votes are cast now, we can easily catch it when the moderation isn't as prompt as it needs to be. If there were to be a lapse in it with a poll, I don't think we'd really be able to know or at least detect it easily to correctly tally the vote. It just seems like potentially more hassle and controversy than it's worth to me. |

It's just too much of a hassle. In my opinion, our style of voting that we have now is perfectly fine. |
