Members of the Orderian Progressive Coalition celebrate the Lord Chief Justice's ruling. It's been all change in the Independent Order over the past few days. Only one candidate, Matthew Vinage, decided to run for office, gifting him the Premiership. Voting was initially opened between Vinage and a re-opening of the nominations, until Achkaerin, the Lord Chief Justice, stepped in, producing a ruling stating that because such an eventuality was not legislated for, that Vinage should be appointed as Premier based on historical precedent (interestingly, this precedent was set in another election back in 2014 where Vinage was the only candidate). This started much jubilation among members of the Orderian Progressive Coalition, the Order's newest political party. Former Premier SatanLord was appointed Vice Premier, with Yolotan continuing as Minister of Home Affairs and tama serving his first term as Minister of Foreign Affairs. The administration's Manifesto laid out plans for a revitalisation of the regional government, citing an "imbalance" between Gameplay and Roleplay in the region. Already a review has been launched regarding embassies, and recruitment and welcoming telegrams to try and address some of the issues the region is facing and make tasks somewhat more manageable. It remains to be seen whether these plans are successful - the term only started a few days ago, after all. What is clear, however, is that the Order will likely see changes made over the coming weeks. Watch this space! IN OTHER NEWS: Coming Soon to an RP near You......Global Events. In an attempt to create a break from the recent cycle of nicey nicey diplomatic talks the RP Moderator is introducing a new concept of Global Events. The aim will be to have one of these every two months. They will be events of such cataclismic nature that the world can't just sit by and ignore them. Be it some pandemic, a new discovery, or anything else we can dream up. If you've an idea you want to share with the region feel free to get in touch with DaveIronside and share your fiendish plan. TEP-TIO Mutual Aid Treaty Ratified Recently the Regional Assembly ratified the Mutual Aid Treaty between the East Pacific and the Independent Order. The treaty includes a number of things such as an agreement not to engage in conflict with one another and an agreement to share intelligence with one another if there is an immediate threat to either region amongst other things. The treaty was negotiated by the previous administration and sets the tone for stronger relations between the East Pacific and the Independent Order in the future. RP NEWS...The Lifeblood of the Order War In Phuebra Continues - the civil war in Phuebra continues with the nation becoming fractured as factions rise up each wanting to control the country, it's almost too much for the Achkaerinese and Vaguzian forces who are trying to stabilize the situation to cope with, but at least they've managed to kill the leader of the Al-Sekar terrorist group wanted for the destruction of the Vertfort-Vanderkloof Congress and deaths of over a thousand people...Or have they? As it seems the international forces have other plans. Elsewhere in the conflict the illegitimate President of Phuebra has died from a latex allergy. Lights Out In Umbridge - The City of Umbridge in Alexandus Prime has been hit by an EMP, to make matters worse this happened on the night of a concert in the city centre so there's now widespread panic and with looting and rioting potentially in the offing it's a recipe for disaster what will the thrown together band of an off duty Himeyaman police officer, several on duty Alexandus police officers, a Kraviksmahn Doctor and a bunch of Achkaerinese spies do next? Who caused this blackout and why? Anyone for a Barbecue? - Tim Carpenter the Secretary General of the Commonwealth Treaty Organisation is having a barbecue, but is all what it seems? Excuse me sir can I talk to you about death? - agents from the nation of Kaitaine are carrying out a coordinated series of murders across Mundus with the aim of destroying the followers of the Bene Gesserit Faith, with murders in Ui Cenneslaig, Achkaerin, Himeyama and Arstotzka so far and with the Bene Gesserit followers striking back when and where will it stop? Will the killers be caught? And what will happen if the investigators learn the truth of who is behind it all? Genocide Trials - After much diplomatic wrangling it's finally happening the trial of those responsible for the Andean Genocide has begun, nine defendants have entered pleas and now the eight that pleaded not guilty will face trial. The trial has attracted much interest from the international media due to the presence of the former Empress and Emperor of Rokkenjima among the defendants. It's now down to the Prosecution to prove their case. Rokkenjiman Embassy Under Siege - the Rokkenjiman embassy in Lakhzovia has been surrounded by Lakhzovian citizens following rumors that a political fugitive was being sheltered there, while the Empress of Rokkenjima pursues diplomacy and continues to bluff she awaits the arrival of her allies to find a solution to the situation. Gas...Gas...Gas! - The city of Uppsala just can't seem to get a break these days, first it was a meteor strike, then a harsh winter and now it's a deadly gas leak of a chemical that medics are trying to work out the identity of. Meanwhile a disproportionately small number of nations have sent in humanitarian aid to try and take the pressure off the locals. Business Deals to be Had - the Leonidas Business Expo of 2017 has gotten underway in the Achkaerinese city of Avalon. With many of the exhibitors rumored to be bringing fast vehicles including EMAC's famous "Badgers" it's looking more like a festival of speed but there's something for everyone. Mundovision Is Back - The second Mundovision Song Contest is underway with the public voting currently in progress, ten nations are vying for the title who will win? Mundus Champions League - Mundus's premier club football tournament is underway for a third year, with Leonaise F.C hoping to defend their title and it's going well for them so far, but there are plenty of strong teams in this years competition and with the groups being very close in places it's going to be a very interesting tournament. Mundus Media Achkaerin set sights on metal world - The Achkaerin Space Agency has unveiled their much rumored Project Science Star. The project which will encompass several specific missions is intended to in the word's of Director of Flight Operations Nicola Fernley "Give a greater picture and understanding of our universe." Kaitaine Cry Foul - the Kaitaine Defence Force football team was detained during their last trip abroad in the Mundus Champions League on suspicion of trafficking an illegal substance was it right or was it foul play? It's a Fix - People in Rokkenjima have taken to the streets protesting the removal of Beatrice Anselmo from the throne , in what is claimed to be a conspiracy orchestrated by Achkaerin's Crown Princess Serenity, some protesters even deny the event of the Andean Genocide. Is He or Isn't He? - Has King Leonard of Vaguzia been at it again, is this the worst kept secret on Mundus or just slanderous rumor?
