Hello everyone, As you all know, I am The13th, and I am running in my first ever election in this region. I have been here a decently long time (around 1.5 years), but only recently did I join the forums and begin to become active in the politics of this region. I have spent a lesser deal of time here than other people in power, but that is not too great of an hinderance for I feel I have figured out a lot about our government and how it works. As Convenor, I would gladly lead our legislature to better our glorious region. I feel that our legislator, though open to the public, is still too exclusive, and that we need to get more people active in our regional workings off the site of NationStates. I think that we can do this together by increasing RolePlaying, and the military. Also, I would like to increase the Council's lawmaking activities to continue to create, expand, and to amend our laws. Speaking of the military, I have noticed a lot of controversy about which way our military should embark on. As some of you know, I am a defend and liberate first, raid second sort of guy. The military has been a defender military for quite a while, and I believe we need to stick with that. But, I do agree in allowing controlled raids, in order to take over hostile regions. And, as always, the LCA should seek to be a light for the world, liberating regions in need of assistance. Overall, I think that we need to make our legislature more accessible to the populous, and I would like to increase our democratic system to make it less of an oligarchy (in which a select group of people rule), to an even greater, stronger, and magnificent Lazarene Democracy. If anybody would like to ask me more questions about my platform, feel free to ask anything you would like. Best of luck to you Svez, and I hope we can possibly have a debate sometime Have a good day everyone, The13th Edited by The13th, May 12 2017, 03:33 PM.

I only have two questions. Do you believe yourself qualified for this position? Are you aware of what your job as Convenor would entail regarding day to day work? That's my only question. Good luck to you in the election! I'm glad we have two seemingly capable candidates. Edited by Doperland, May 13 2017, 04:17 AM.

Thank you for calling me a capable candidate, and I agree that Svez is too! I will answer your question two parts: 1) I believe myself to be decently prepared for this position of leading the legislature. I will definitely have some things to learn, but in the long run I feel like I could run the legislature pretty efficiently. 2) I am aware that as Convenor I will lead the Legislature, I will have to put bills to vote, and I will need to basically oversee and guide the voting process with a bipartisan view. After bills are made into laws, I have the responsibility to amend the Mandate of other pre-existing laws. If this is a question about activity in general, I do not believe that to be an issue in any form for I am active most of the day. Thank you! The13th |

Don't you mean non-partisan? |

Yes, but in my book, though we don't have two opposing parties, they are one and the same. |

Do you believe procedure should be strictly followed or that it is a guideline? |

Tough question Omega I believe that in very serious cases, the procedure needs to be followed diligently. But as I am a very chill person, I think that procedure is in most cases a guidline to keep you on the right track. Remember, the world and its workings constantly change, and in order to keep up to date with the world, sometimes old procedures need to be scrapped in place for new measures to better Lazarus. I am typically very loose about things, also leading to why I felt appalled at the measures that some members of our community took against Constie/Canton Empire. Thank you! The13th |

I was reading through Svez's platform...... and I realize how much more I need to be writing and how much better I need to word my statements. Anyways, the true meaning of this statement is to ask more questions about Svez's feeling on the actions taking against Constie/Canton Empire. As stated by Svez "The pursuit of Canton Empire was more of a statement than an operation". Two things- it was most definitely a statement made at Canton Empire. But the object of the statement was totally unnecessary, with its only intent to sow seeds of discord wherever he goes, and to dismay Canton Empire. The banjection of Canton was unjust, but I do acknowledge Canton did ask for his banjection. The actions taken afterwards were straight up wrong, as we raided a region, to only show hate to Canton Empire, for reasons not justifiable. And don't give me crap about how we raided a Warzone, and that is what Warzones are made for. If that is the case, then how come we don't raid Warzones regularly (though it is sometimes part of military training drills)? Anyways, I was wondering how you felt about the actions taken against Canton Empire? Feel free to comment on this thread, I barged in on yours. Thanks and Happy Mothers Day, The13th |
