Hello, everyone. I come before you now in hopes that you will elect me as Delegate of Lazarus for another time. I believe we have reached a critical point in the course of the direction of this region, and I believe that I can bring the change necessary to "pull up," so to speak. Firstly, I feel I should address my last departure from the office before looking to the future. During my last time (as the inaugural holder of the office), I ended up resigning before my term was over. I have said it before, and I will say it again now: there were several personal reasons that necessitated my resignation from the office, and now, almost two years later, my situation has changed significantly, and I am ready to take office again. Now, obviously Lazarus has been absolutely dead for several months, and I think we all have to come to terms with our involvement in that. However, there are several things we can change about it, and I have some plans that can be executed fairly quickly to get us back on track. Firstly, we need to begin with recruitment drives. And not those half assed ones we have done in the past. We need to establish a rapport with people in the region. RMB posts, telegrams, whatever it takes to get people to join our forum and join the community. This leads me to something else I feel we've been lacking a lot -- contact with our gameside. It doesn't take me to say that it's not just us up in our ivory tower, there's five thousand people in the region! We've got to be talking to them and building a community around our relationships. When I was delegate the first time in 2014, I was able to name almost all the active WA nations and RMB posters, and I think everyone around here should be up to that, and if we can build an actual community around this sort of connection, we'll only be stronger for it. And that brings me to another aspect of my vision, which is to build an actual identity for Lazarus. We're going to have to forge an identity for the region of Lazarus, and through our new efforts in community building, I'm confident we will be able to do just that. Depending on the interest in it, I would like to restart the Lazarene Gazette. This is something that I am honestly not too confident in the success of, but obviously we will have to gauge the interest in that to see if it's feasible. I might be a little to busy writing for real life stuff to contribute, but if I can, I will. In terms of our military, it has obviously fallen into great disrepair. I believe we will have to have a conversation about whether we want to remain a GP nation. If we do indeed decide to remain a region with a military, then I will work closely with current THI members to reinvigorate the military, and hopefully these efforts coupled with our internal recruitment efforts will bolster the military numbers, and we can get new people involved in the process. That's most of my current priorities. I think the most important parts are internal recruitment and talking to people on the gameside. Please post any questions in this thread because I would love to answer them and clarify any unclear points of my thread. |

Is it though? I don't think I've really seen anyone outside of Lazarus making fun of or even talking about the name. Then again no one is really talking about our military in general. |

Little bunny fufu's running through the forest. Man I laughed so hard right now. But you're right. It's not the name that matters, it's just the state of disrepair of that has caused it. |

You'd think that given the state of defending, defenders would have more important things to concern themselves with than the name of an allied military. v_v In any case, what are your plans, if any, to build a culture in the region, particularly here on the forums? Do you plan on working to create activities and things for people to do outside of government and the military here on the forums? |

I hope to have an aggressive campaign, with the future Archbishops of Culture and possibly Media to work on expanding our space theme. I think that we have a lot of potential, but we're currently just really limited in our scope and probably not doing enough to really extract the type of culture that we could out of this theme. Unfortunately I believe some people are very quick to be naysayers but there is still something there for it, I believe. |

The name of the military and it's positions are easy to change:

As superficial as it may seem, a name does have an initial impact on recruiting. The Holy Inquisition smacks of Monty-Python, and therefore not something to be taken seriously. That said, a great name won't save a poorly functioning military either. Change both, and if it is a space theme you're aiming for, then go with a space theme for your military as well. Personally, I just wanna have fun, that's all I want... Anyway, I've always been concerned about the chief forum administrator also holding the WA Delegacy in a Game Created Region. It's like Gumby being the commander in a nuclear missile silo -- he can turn both launch keys at the same time all by himself. So, [nation]Funkadelia[/nation], are you personally willing to be held accountable to the Oath of Office/Allegiance you would swear should you be elected Sovereign? Are you willing to resign the position should you violate (or fail to uphold) [region]Lazarus[/region]'s laws? And what measures would you take to ensure that the Guardians are always in a position to depose you should you go rogue? What measures will you take to keep the Defender of the Realm within striking distance of your endorsement count should you be elected Sovereign? I'm looking for a Sovereign that obeys the laws first and foremost. Why are you the preferred candidate in that regard? |

I find splitting quotes up to be really annoying to try to do, so I'm just going to answer you in parts. Firstly, regarding your concern about an administrator also being Delegate, I have had access to the root account on this forum since its creation in April 2015, and I have served as Delegate once since then. Harmoneia did the same immediately following my delegacy, and she also has access to the root admin account. I wouldn't be too concerned about it. Secondly, I have never committed a crime against Lazarus in my four years that I've been here, and I don't intend to. If I was to go rogue, I don't think I would really have an answer to the second part of the question. To answer, though, I will just encourage that all designated endorsees endotart in a way to bring their endorsement count up to an acceptable level, as that's all I can really practically do to ensure things aresound,. I am the preferred candidate for a voter with such scruples because I have served this region in many different capacities over the years, and I've never broken the law during my time here. A couple of years ago, I was the organizing force behind the defense of our rule of law when it was threatened by Stujenske. I seek to obey Lazarus law. |
