Why Me? I have been asking this question a very long time and I keep getting roughly the same answers, regardless of who I ask or what their intentions are. 1. I am very frank. I say exactly what I think or I say nothing at all. The closest I can get to lying, is just not spilling my guts when people ask the wrong questions. To be clear, I am not frank necessary because it's right, but moreso because I don't have a choice in the matter. I could more easily stop being male or straight, then I could stop being honest. 2. I actually am interested in other people, almost too much you could argue. I take a deep interest in majors, passions, life-partners, and general deep topics. Normally I remember more about my encounters with people, then they do for me. Again, to be clear, this isn't really a choice of me. This is where I get my entertainment and the meaning in my life. I am a deeply politicized, religious person and I have strong beliefs that I exist to serve. 3. I know a lot about a lot of topics. This doesn't matter, reading is my coping mechanism and I'm an infomation addict. Again, not a choice. 4. I am consistent and don't flip flop all over the place, nor do I bend to the will of people for the sake of popularity. To counter that, if I believe that I am in the wrong (This happens more often then you think) Then I will adjust myself. New infomation comes in all the time and rumors are more often the not, just rumors. Why are you running? This region was pretty good to me when I got here and it was active enough for me, I was very happy. I have been very bored. I tried starting RPs, I tried mentoring people, posting memes, asking questions. The ministry of interior has been bored and almost devoid of hope. We have done some very extreme measures and saw nothing at all happen. I'm fairly certain this is connected to the infighting of the region, which is started here or even brought in from other regions. Then on top of that, we got officials quitting and the usual bullshit "defender-raider" arguements that have been fair recently, but in the past were a lot worse. Can you make that simpler? I'm running because I want things to be different and I want this community to grow. This position as far as I am concerned, isn't glory or respect, it's just a responsibility. It's a heavy burden that weighs down on your soul, because if things go wrong it will be my fault. I have to run against people I know, do things I never have done before, and be part of a process I almost hate. The people I wanted to run for this office, have not, so I am doing so. What are you promising? What do you want? I think that's the biggest question I want to ask you. I think the very least I can do is push from the very top for more activity, more transparency, and make it easier for people to communicate their needs or wants. What makes you qualified? Besides what was mentioned before? I would have to say that the fact I have been on this site five years and have been mentoring people for about as long, means something right? I'm actually an Education Major, my name is Timothy, I have three siblings, I moderate RP, and I teach people to write or do poems. I prefer to not really be a leader, so much as a mentor, who allows the student to teach as much as I do. So, I believe a better question might not be if I am the right Teacher, but if you are the right students. Campaign Promises Since it appears there is demand for defending, poems, and RP; I will push those things ahead. I will start up the section in the regional forums for things of writing nature and start posting poems, along with allowing others to post poems or learn how to make poems. I will keep pushing for more RP and even post in the regional RPs on the forums, along with helping moderate. Finally, I will help set up the regional military again, and quit my job as a merc to provide guidance to new recruits while I appoint Katie as in charge. Further Ideas and Promises It would be a lot better for this region if we had polls on the regular, and as many of them as possible were effective in letting the needs of the people be shown to the people in charge. I would also like to setup a mentoring process to allow citizens to find a place in the system and work under one of our many bureaucrats or elected officials.
