I HAVE CHORTLES!
THE GRAND COURT
OF THE
MAGICAL REALMS OF LAZARUS

Presiding
Grand Judge The Church of Satan
Judge Loftegen
Judge Frankender

Petitioner: Amerion
October 17, 2016
As written by The Church of Satan

On submission as a Request for Review

Legal Question: Enforceability of The Citizen's Oath Act; If an official clearly demonstrates disloyalty to Lazarus and/or breaks a law, are these grounds for dismissal?

The Petitioner's Submission: The petitioner who submitted this request asks whether or not breaking The Citizen's Oath Act warrants removal from elected & confirmed positions.

The Oath

From this time forward, I INSERT-NATION, voluntarily without mental reservation or purpose of evasion, pledge my loyalty to Lazarus and her people, whose democratic beliefs I share, whose rights and liberties I respect, and whose laws I will uphold and obey.

Ruling

This court acknowledges that the term "disloyalty" could be dangerously broad, detrimentally so. However any holder of a position that requires election or confirmation that takes the oath and breaks it, willingly or not, must indeed be removed from their position if found guilty for anything listed in the Unified Criminal Code as a crime, specifically under The Criminal Code. This court has decided so due to the fact that most crimes listed in the Unified Criminal Code involve a certain amount of deception which could be construed as an act of disloyalty. Additionally, most offences listed under Article 2 of The Criminal Code are serious enough to warrant removal from public office.
