I don't know why I included this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Now I know the Convenor's responsibilities are pretty straight forward so there ain't that much a need for a campaign but I wanted to cuz 1) I haven't in a long time and 2) I ran for this post because when we take the region back, we'll have a lot to do legislatively. Before I continue I'll just put up my credentials. Credentials I have spent a decent amount of time in the legislative branch working in a capacity such as a Speakership or Deputy Speakership role so I do have an idea of what I'll be doing. In such roles, I appointed my election opponents as my deputies so if I am elected, I'll ask Amerion to be my deputy should he want to. Aside from that, what do I intend to do? Legal Planning - When we take back the region, there will be some questions. What happens to the coupers? Do we just banject them, declare them persona non grata or is there a trial? What of the people who seek citizenship in their unlawful regime? Do they receive punishments for aiding and abetting? We need a proper discussion and legal plan in place for when we retake the Delegacy. While not particularly pertaining to the duties of the Convenor, it is in that position that an individual can best shape and guide regional debate in that direction so as to attain a consensus on what to do. Legal Revamp - From what we've seen as the flaws in the Constitution, I think we need an entirely new legal style that is a lot simpler; that gets to the point on purpose and language but maybe leaving some ambiguity where needed to allows us to adjust to situations. That way we can avoid the clusterfuck we had a proceeding to the events that led us here. It also provides us with some activity and a sense of business as usual which can help further attract nations to the cause. Constitutional Convention - As of now we have seen some new constitution proposals pop up. While some of you know I do have my reservations about discussing this now, especially without the full Laz community, I think at the very least we should look at previous Mandates that have governed Lazarus and what went wrong. By doing that, perhaps we can identify the cause of problems within the laws and agree to some constitutional fundamentals before we get into the nitty gritty of the actual text. I have a few other bits and bobs here and there that I may try out but for the most, those three things are things that I would be hoping to accomplish in my term. Questions? |

Thank you. It would be a pleasure to work with you also ![]()
Thank you for the question and the compliment ![]() I think that the very basic role of a legislature is to represent; represent the people of said community or region. In a truly democratic community, it doesn't just represent, it leads: by being a centre of communal discussion on legislation, policies and other issues that need to be resolved and move the community forwards. It's this idea that most, if not all, of my campaign, is based on, despite the role I would like, being just administrative. |
