Recall of Funkadelia as Sovereign

Amerion

I move that this Council formally recall Funkadelia from service on grounds of gross misconduct.

I request that the Convenor shorten the debate time to the legal minimum of two days.

Some days ago, when it seemed like it would be inevitable that it would come to this, I wrote my own recall motion in the event there was no alternative:

I've watched the events of the last several days with growing concern...the importation of voters into the region and the associated political games, undertaken by a particular group with ties to the raider group Lone Wolves United and supported by others friendly to them, with the purpose of consolidating their own power in the region while denying it to others who might oppose their mechanisms. We all know this is going on, at this point I'm just stating the obvious.

But what we have now is a tainted court, including a prelate elected through vote-stacking who gets to vote on his own status in the court, and which already seems eager to take up charges brought by the Sovereign himself against Amerion, whose removal as a Guardian (since those convicted of a crime can't be Guardians) would certainly not benefit the security of the region, and at the very least would allow this group to consolidate their own position in the Guardian group.

I'm curious actually, does the Sovereign believe that Amerion is responsible for bringing over all the people that came over to vote against Harmoneia? Does he believe that Amerion is responsible for the "massive LWU presence" in the region? lol, of course not, I would hope at least. That just wouldn't make sense. But someone must be benefiting from having all these people here. They just didn't arrive here spontaneously, driven by nature to vote for certain people and against others.

Who benefits if Harmoneia and Amerion are no longer Guardians? Who benefits if killer kitty is a Prelate and not CoS? Who benefits from Lamb becoming a Guardian? Who benefits if his friends and comrades-in-arms are brought to power at the cost of those who aren't? Wouldn't you know, the answer to all those questions are the same: our Sovereign, Funkadelia, who also happened to accept the Citizenships of the vote-stackers and was the election commissioner over the votes themselves...and who, for the most part, voted for all these outcomes in lockstep with them, except for Amerion who he is now trying to remove through the courts.

Of course, I don't have a smoking gun for this...these people are too good at what they do to leak things that could be used against them, but I come at this from a position of common sense through their own increasingly blatant actions and motives. Read the recent posts and votes, and tell me there's a chance in hell that the Sovereign is an innocent beneficiary in all this. Someone is responsible for what has happened, someone who would benefit from it happening, and that someone is the Sovereign.

My natural tendency is to avoid gameplay dramas, because I don't care for them one bit, but I could not in good conscience remain silent while the Sovereign and his friends slowly seize the region out from under everyone else, especially when they're doing it through such underhanded, shady, and frankly corrupt means. For the good of the region and what's left of our sovereignty, I call on Funkadelia to resign as Sovereign. Otherwise, I move for a vote of no confidence in the Sovereign.

Obviously, I support.
