I figured it would come to this as soon as Funkadelia returned from 'retirement', extolling the need to make Lazarus 'spicy'. Now it has, with the Delegate and his friends not only illegally removing most of the people from their government posts and stripping over a dozen people of Citizenship, but attempting to assassinate their characters along the way. For me individually, I'm not bothered...everyone knows what's really going on, and we all know they're not above lying to suit their petty agenda. But some of these people have been involved with and dedicated to Lazarus for years...the people who helped fight the Stujenske coup and the people who have helped built the region, through several mandates, laws, festivals, and every other aspect of building a region. And now they're being slandered for the Delegate's amusement, and quite frankly they deserve better. They deserve to at least be acknowledged for their service to the region, if not outright appreciated. And all this to what end? The Delegate and his group get rid of everyone who opposes them, then...they lord over a virtually region? They celebrate that they turned Lazarus into a dead region? I suppose if they have their way, we'll see. If nothing else, there's nothing spicy about a region that's dead. And ultimately, that's what this is all about, the future of the region, and more importantly, its people, because that's why a region matters. It's not the NS page, the forum, or even the Discord, it's the people, and in my years of building regions, I've seen that time and time again. Without them, a region now no relevance, no life, no value, and whatever else he does, no Delegate and no group of cronies can change that. In the end, that's the difference between what the government-in-exile offers and what Funkadelia's group offers...a Lazarus that's about its people, or one that's about its Delegate and his friends. A Lazarus that's active and vibrant, or a Lazarus that's dead and forgotten by all but those in power. A Lazarus that stands on law and principle, or one that stands on the whims of its Delegate. A Lazarus that has a future, or one that doesn't. That is the choice to be made by everyone that has anything to do with this region. The only people I see buying into his message, are lying along with him, or have no idea what is going on. The region is just a trophy to them, a stepping stone to some ridiculous raiding career, instead of a career position to allow them to show skill and thus recruit raiders wholesale. |
