AN ANNOUNCEMENT BY PRINCESS ANNA OF UNITED MORELAND

Following my sisters announcement of her impending abdication I am forced to accept the crown of United Moreland. In accordance with our nations traditions my coronation must be witnessed and open to emissaries from any nation, therefore I humbly invite you to Lancaster in order to witness the event.

I would also like to announce the ceremony will be followed by my sister, the outgoing Queen, being presented with the title of Archduchess, this is in recognition of her great works in her time as Queen. Her reign may have only been ten short years but in that time she has established our nation as one willing to help bring stability to the world. She helped defuse the situation in Japao as well as creating the Cultural Exchange Treaty Organisation and authored much of the Universal Rights Treaty. She also extended the borders of United Moreland to include Port Moreland, the first ever expansion of national territory. She leaves a large legacy I hope I am worthy of.

Those wishing to attend will of course be offered all comforts available in our royal palace and should they wish to meet with myself at anytime the following day I would be happy to accommodate. I look forward to meeting you in person soon.

Orlaith smiled as the Empress informed them of her pregnancy, "Congratulations Your Majesty" Orlaith said momentarily forgetting all protocol.

"Indeed" Robert said with a sly sideways glance, "On behalf of United Moreland I'd like to pass on our best wishes for the birth and welcome you to United Moreland, I'm sure my sister Anna will be delighted you've attended." A neatly dressed Major of the Royal Lancastrians marched up flanked by two Guardsman who formed an escort for the Empress to the waiting SUV as Robert walked along with her. As they reached the car Robert removed something from his pocket, it was no bigger than a match box but sparkled in the daylight. "There will be part of the ceremony when you will require the contents of this" Robert said handing a small crystal flask over which had the nations coat of arms etched into the shimmering surface.

Robert returned to the end of the red carpet as the next delegation arrived. He stood waiting for the Merchant Federation to arrive holding Orlaith's hand. "Vice Protector, Minister" he said to each in turn with a hand shake. "It's been quiet a while since we welcomed anyone from your nation here, as always your welcome. I believe this is your first visit to our nation?" he asked as he escorted them to the car. "I hope to talk more at the banquet following the coronation" he added before reaching back into his pocket and removing two of the small flasks, he began to be thankful his uniform had large pockets.

Orlaith has stood patiently as she had waited for Robert to return, she was nervous now as Sémarë Tar-Ancalimiel approached, just as she was about to open her mouth she felt Robert's arm around her waist. He'd studied a few of the customs and always figured if in doubt copy the other person and so he returned the bow he was offered. "Your Most Serene Highness" Robert began, "Welcome to our nation, we're deeply honoured you have attended" he announced walking slowly backwards and to the side while gesturing that they should walk. "I know my sister Anna will be delighted at an oppurtunity to meet a new nations representatives, it means a lot to us that you would come." By now they'd reached the waiting car and Robert once more handed over the little flasks before bowing once more and returning to Orlaith.

"I want a fancy head-dress like that" Orlaith whispered as the next delegation approached.

"Your like a magpie, anything shiny and you'll have it" Robert teased.

"Only reason I took your wedding ring" she fingered the golden band bearing their initials as she dug an elbow playfully into his ribs.

"Your Highness, Lord Nissho" Robert said bowing to each in turn. "Welcome to United Moreland" he said as they began to walk, the prescence of the Samurai was a little odd to him but as his sister Alison would have said it was important to accept these cultural differences. "I hope you have an enjoyable stay. Perhaps you'd be agreeable to my wife joining you on the ride" Robert said checking his watch, it would be close to time to start by the time they reached the palace, "Sadly I must make my way to the barracks as I'm part of the Air Force contingent today." he explained helping his wife into the car.

The trips into Lancaster were straight forward, the roads had all been closed the night before and so nothing held them up. The streets were lined with United Moreland flags and people dressed in blue and red, the national colours. In addition many people had picnics with them and large TV screens had been set up to allow people to watch. They turned into the Palace courtyard and the Royal Lancastrians gave a masterclass in drill as they presented honours for the arrivals. Each arrived one after another and were escorted into a large ball room, people of the nobility of Moreland mingled enjoying glasses of wine and various other drinks. As they walked into the hall Orlaith was announced and then in turn announced the visitors. She called over a red headed girl and introduced them to the group. "Honoured Guests this is my sister in law, and apparently the new heir to the throne, Princess Jessica."

"Thank you for coming" Jessica said shly, she never enjoyed being in crowds especially at formal events, truth be told she'd even been caught that morning trying to put Converse trainers on under her floor length blue dress but had been caught by Alison who threatened to have her last act as Queen be to burn all Jessica's wardrobes. "If you have any questions about the coronation I'd be happy to answer them. You'll all be sat with a man called Miles Addison, he's our nations former elected leader, a former Admiral and he'll help guide you through things? I trust you each have your flasks?" she held up her own. "It's filled with water from the stream that flows from the cave of Mithras, our God. It is believed he formed out of a single drop of water in the cave and once his time on Earth was at an end turned back into water in the same cave he was created, the water is considered most Holy" she wasn't sure she believed that herself but it was her nations culture, "Water will play a significant part of the coronation and there is some....well I guess you'd say audience participation" she smiled knowingly.

There was a sudden "BANG!" on a door and four Royal Lancastrians marched in, each was well over 6ft tall and carried a highly polished axe. In the centre was a young woman, her hair tied into a long braid and wearing a simple white gown. Two more Lancastrian's followed, one carrying the nations flag and the other a cushion with the crown on it, a Sergeant Major with a magnificently waxed moustache stood. "Please be upstanding for Her Highness Princess Anna, the future Queen of United Moreland. Clear the way." Anna processioned past the waiting crowd and gave her sister Jessica a feint wave and smile as they passed, for someone about to be Queen she was dressed very simply, her white dress simple cotton and oddly barefoot.

"Follow us" Jessica said to the guests who were close to her. The ballroom filed outside following the Princess, the former Queen Alison appeared alongside Jessica with a quick hug. Outside Princess Anna, still barefooted began walking with her escort towards the Palace gates while the guests were seated in large carriages, soon they passed the Princess who was not even halfway to the gate, the crowd outside the gate seemed expectant and cheered as the guests passed. As the visiting delegates turned onto the avenue that was parrallel to the entrance they saw Anna reach the gate, a small child was waiting and presented her with a pair of simple shoes, as the now shoed Princess began walking again the crowd began throwing water onto the road before her. "It'll take her about an hour to get to the Temple, its only around half a mile, we'll be there soon."

At the Temple the guests were ushered in and given seats at the very front. The Temple was dark, it was designed to mimic a cave, a statue as high as a house stood at the front in the image of the God with a large hooded robe pulled over his head so that only when stood directly before it could an old mans weathered face be seen. A pool of water shimmered in the darkness in the centre of the Temple. "I trust we've not confused you too much" the now Archduchess Alison asked as he ensured her sisters guests were sat.

Sakuma sat next to Lord Nissho, they both held hands as they awaited the future Queen's arrival in the temple. She thought it was odd that women were held up to the standard of 'first dibs' on the throne, such a thing in Tsukihon wasn't heard of. Ofcourse, a woman in Tsukihon could reach the high class of Asa, who was in the warrior class, but it would be a consistent battle with societal prejudice. Asa herself being a samurai, was quite a religious person, she pledged her life to the Gureto-shin faith and became ordained as a Samurai. It was one way one could become a Samurai instead of being born into it, put themselves in service of the Gureto-shin Ecclesial. How Asa had gotten this far was a mystery to her, such a lower class warrior, serving the church, not belonging to any clan, is now the bodyguard of the First Princess of Tsukihon and command of Guardian Taskforce for the Prince Shogun.

Nissho in the mean time, had his eye follow a Moreland noble woman, he didn't exactly know her name, but while sitting there with Sakuma's hand in his, he couldn't take his eyes off of her. Sakuma noticed, digging her sharp heels into his shin. He bent over in pain, cringing. "There, there." Sakuma smiled, giving off a death stare back at the oblivious woman as she took her seat. "What do you think so far Asa?" she asked, as the old samurai took a seat next to her.

"These people are hearty." Asa chuckled. "I admire their religious values however."

Sakuma rolled her eyes. She had been sent to a Bukkyo temple as a teenager to 'straighten her out'. It was to prepare for a monastic life, which Asa had reluctantly saved her from. "Please, don't preach to me, we're already in a preachy enough environment."

"That's disrespectful isn't it?" Nissho warranted.

Sakuma beamed back at him, before he submissively looked forward. She turned back to Asa with a grin. "I'm not against religion, I just don't want it in my life."

"Understandable." Asa nodded. "But if something happens to your brother, such as, he resigns, would you take on the faith?"

"I don't know, perhaps I'd be the first Princess Shogun and atheist monarch huh?"

Asa smiled, "Only one can dream."

They awaited for the Queens arrival, taking in the 'holy' atmosphere.

The Empress walked to her seat and sat down, the Duchess of Victorina and her close friend, Esme Lucitania had come with her so at least she had some company. She rubbed the little life inside her stomach filled with joy about her baby which was about to come. She looked around the temple and admired it's beauty before bringing her attention back to her stomach. she began to speak to Esme about the ceremony.

"This building is truly beautiful" remarked Esme.

"I wholly agree, it's such a lovely place. I love how they hold there religion so sacred similar to how George does." she replied.

"Yes, also how is the baby we're all so excited to see the Empire's heir." she asked.

"Well you know how pregnancy is, stressful but worthwile."

The pair quietened down as they waited for the new Queen's arrival, Esme took in the scenery while the Empress continued to fret over the baby.

*Italia was always in front, followed some meters away by Emanuele, as he wasn't Vice Protector he always tried to be just behind her, when they seen the ball room, Emanuele make sign to her that he would be most delighted to dance once all of this is over, which has not failed to blush Italia.*

*But when they entered into the Temple, Emanuele managed to sit next to Italia, through a very discret way. He started the talk by whispering each others to their ears.*

Emanuele and Italia

E : Impressive monument, isn't it ?
I : Yes... I was waiting for talks before the coronation, having a private meeting with her future Highness, they have strange way to do things.
E : Be patient, you'll got your entrevue after, just wait they put the crown on her head.
I : I like the fact that female have the priority on succession line.
E : Well, maybe you'll be Protector one day, who knows ?
I : Certainly not you. Protector Tyre was appreciated by Morelanders Diplomats, HE shall have come, and I shall have re-took his negotiations in Genova City !
E : You are at the right place, it allows you to develop your figure at an international stage you know, it is positive. In addition, Morelanders are important partners.
I : Indeed... You'll try to talk with high representatives once I have my entrevue with the new Queen ?
E : Yes, and after offer you a dance, after all we're the only representatives of the MF here, so both of us dancing wouldn't be suspect.

*He said that last sentence with a great smile. Coronation was mostly a pretext for meeting new leaders, and the new Queen in his opinion, which was perfect.*

Long live the Merchant Federation,
May God be with you,
- Protector of the Merchant Federation's Office

Teutonic Union

Posted Image Posted Image

Princess Kaia Astrauckas /Prince Henrike Loewe, Duke of Silesa

The Teutonic Union had several exchanges of visits now with United Moreland, and as such Emperor Hans had determined that it was time two of his Principalities rulers took some of the oppurtunities. To that end he'd choosen Princess Kaia, she was a smart young girl but lacked any real contact with nations beyond her border, at 20 years of age she was still a university and as a result depended on her uncle to handle the day to day runnings of the Principality of Mustla. Meanwhile as a way of ensuring things went smoothly for her Prince Henrike, at the opposite end of the age scale, had been sent along to accompany her, the Prince of Goslar now sat almost dozing as the Temple filled.

"Prince Henrike" Kaia whispered giving him a little nudge. The man bolted upright.

"Have they started?" he asked the journey and his old age combining to tire him out.

"Not yet, still waiting on the new Queen arriving" she said, glancing around just to make sure. "What do you make of it?" she gestured to the Temple.

"Some very fine craftsmanship, just could use some lights, its making me sleepy" she said stifling a yawn.
