Nyguno Hong, Gondor's Lord Helm Guardian, was being sent to the United Socialist States of Die Erworbenen Namen. King Eldarion had felt that the soured relations of old between Gondor and DEN had passed, as the reasons for the sour relations had passed as well. Eldarion felt that Gondor needed more allies than just Ascarenor in order to be truly felt as a power within Audaxia. While Gondor and DEN had their differences of opinion, they were far more alike than they cared to admit. They both had monarchs, had a cabinet to advise those monarchs, valued strong national defense, and were fiercely patriotic. Nyguno looked out his plane window at the sight of Hochburg off in the distance. The sprawling mass of a city was magnificent from a bird's eye view, with the tops of skyscrapers glinting sunlight off into the distance. But it was his landing place that gathered more of his attention. He was landing at some sort of airfield, and he could see military personnel everywhere bustling about on their daily patrols and various assignments. The red and gold banner of the Namenian flag waved in the frosty wind and was a testament to their pride in their country, which made Nyguno smile. The hammer and sickle reminded him that he was coming to a socialist nation, and one that was an economic machine. Gondor wasn't socialist, but didn't mind socialism and even light forms of communism, though authoritarian communism, or fascism for that matter, was something that the King abhorred with a burning passion. The Lord Helm Guardian was interested to see just how socialist they were, and if they would be open to an alliance with a more laissez-faire style nation such as Gondor. He was informed by one of his entourage that his flight was landing, and that the Namenians were expecting him. His entourage consisted of several aides and Royal Guardsmen who boldly brandished their M4 carbines in their arms, there being 10 of them to protect him. One would notice their bright red uniforms, with white caps and the White Tree upon their chests. Their uniforms radiated a semblance of pride and fervor for Gondor that all the Guardsmen had--they were Gondor's best and brightest. As the plane soon came to a landing, the door was opened and the stairway slid down from the plane door, with the Royal Guardsmen splitting up into two groups of five on each side of the stairs and giving the Lord Helm Guardian a full salute, to which he gave a wave and a nod. His entourage piled off the plane after him, carrying briefcases containing important documents and other odds and ends for Nyguno's visit should he need them. Nyguno looked out for the Namenian representative who he was to meet, a smirk slowly crossing his face. Edited by Gondor, Jun 29 2016, 03:08 AM.

Vladimir Lenin was dressed in a long, olive green great coat, with a short, green and black peaked cap above his head. At his side, strapped to a belt, was a service pistol, and on the other, a sabre, reminding him exactly where he came from. He had a small detatchment of soldiers alongside him, guardsmen to be exact, with their great coats and berets. Each man had a service pistol upon his side, but in their gloved hands they held the stock of an NBR-40 battle rifle. An old weapon, long retired, now mostly used for official military dress. And also conscripts. Vladimir himself had once been a commander of conscripts, having fought at the helm of a battle, leading them in headfirst with the same sabre that he held at his side. Long ago, he had, when he was still a Commissar. Now, now he was up here. The Gondorians, he had heard, were a bunch that he didn't necessarily expect to love the cold. In fact, maybe even rightly, that their reaction to the cold, white landscape he lived in, would be one of surprise. Most people always got that reaction; it was much colder than they initially expected. Much colder, and a lot less... heavy. Apart from the glistening sky scrapers, the area was flatter, and had much more open area. This had helped Vladimir even see the incoming planes, and get ready for the jet that was heading their way. "Alright men, lets give these newbies a show of who is the master here. Show them what we've got! Detatchment! Atten-HUT!" Vladimir shouted, turning around to face his men. He was ready to meet the new people. |

It was cold. Frigid was a better word for it. So much so that Nyguno had instructed one of his aides to bring a his heavy coat to him, which he now put on. He couldn't even imagine what the Guardsmen were dealing with, but whatever they felt they didn't show. He looked at the Namenian detachment of troops and was quite impressed. Their uniforms quite rivaled those of his men, whose faces became like stone when they saw the Namenian soldiers snap to attention at the barking of their commanding officer. He didn't know who he was to be meeting until one of his aides whispered in his ear that the commanding officer was in fact the second in command of DEN himself: Vladimir Lenin. Vladimir was the Head of Government, and a renowned war hero who was respected and beloved by his countrymen. Nyguno made a series hand motions to his men, to which they shouldered their rifles in a guarding position and snapped their boots together with a loud click. The Lord Helm Guardian walked over to the Fuhrer and greeted him, the Royal Guardsmen not far behind. "Greetings, Fuhrer Lenin. I am pleased to meet you and I come with good tidings from King Eldarion, my Lord." |

"Greetings to you as well. I see you already know me but... I do not know you, mr...?" Vladimir turned around to face the man and his entourage of soldiers, no doubt some form of honor guard or otherwise. He watched them move, and although somewhat impressed, showed only dissatisfaction in the hand motions. Very sloppy, in his opinion. |

"I am Nyguno Hong, Gondor's Lord Helm Guardian, or as you might call me, the Minister of Defense." Nyguno had seen Vladimir's displeasure with his hand gestures to his troops, and explained the motive behind them. "My hand signals to my Guardsmen are not traditional in Gondor by any means. Normally any Royal Guardsmen would be called to attention quite vocally as you have just done with your men, but I am descended from a long line of ninja, and to get their point across ninja let their actions speak louder than their words. Therefore I came up with just a few rudimentary hand signals that I teach my units to do basic actions. If I truly had need, I would command them vocally, but as of now I have none." |

"Hello, then, minister. I'm sure you won't mind entering our limo and join our column?" Vladimir politely asked, making a mental note about the hand gestures for later. Perhaps if he ever needed to know in the future, he'd delve deeper into the research. A long line of ninjas, sure. What man wouldn't want to claim that in Gondor? As silly as it sounded, he'd have to accept that and respect it, no matter what it sounded like. "If you may, we should get going. It will soon be dark, and it is much colder when the sun goes down." |

"It gets colder than this?" Nyguno sarcastically remarked as he and his men got into the limos to head towards their destination. "So Vladimir, what is going on in DEN at the moment? Your nation is a rather silent one, and the state of affairs here interests me. DEN has a good arms manufacturing industry as I understand it, no? That surely has to permeate every bit of your society." |

"Ah. Secret, you believe? Minister, DEN is perhaps the very definition of secretive. Which is nice, I suppose, given that most people do not know what we will do." Vladimir remarked as he climbed into the limo and sat down. He made room for his guest, grabbed refreshments, and then leaned back in his side of the limo and lit a cigarette as the car started moving. "You'll see, all in good time. Now, why are we here?" |

Nyguno chuckled as Vladimir lit the cigarette and was reminded of the days when his father would smoke those large cigars after a long day's work. He turned his gaze to the city as he spoke to Vladimir, gleaning what he could from what he saw. "I am here to seek more fruitful relations between Gondor and DEN. The last time that a Gondorian envoy was here, things went quite...well, sour. Gondor is looking for trading partners, and with DEN in particular, perhaps an ally." |

"Any reason in particular, Minister?" Vladimir asked, puffing the cigarette and putting away his lighter as the smoke curled above his head and out the vent. He sucked in a large amount of smoke and then breathed it out in one continuous stream, then turned back to the minister. "Most people do not simply ask someone for an alliance for no particular reason at all." |
