Following the growing threat of communist around the glob, within our borders, and more particularly in Unirel, the Merchant Republic, the Republic of Velizio and the Commonwealth of Genova decided to, in common, a summit in order to define next actions we shall take. As minor nations we can unite our efforts, our strength and stop this crisis.

As formers Nations of the Merchant Federation, we all have duty to honour the past, and ensure the future. The summit will take place in Genova City.

MA : Buongiorno ! How are you my dear friend ? Nice trip ?
PL : Indeed, thanks. And you ?
MA : Splendid ! It is unfortunate we re-see each other in these circumstances, with your Nation at the border of war..
PL : Si.. But I am sure this summit will engage us on a way to stability and prosperity. We need a force, the strength to destroy this threat, once and for all !
MA : You wouldn't... Do you know what your words would mean ?
PL : I know, but it is needed.

MA : Buongiorno ! It is a real pleasure to receive you.
AT : Thanks. A shared pleasure, and naturally Piero.
PL : Yes, indeed..
AT : Pleasant view the residence have.
MA : Yes, it was build during the pre-federation area, in order to show superiority of Vinitsians to natives. I am very fond of this residence.
AT : It is past, what is interesting me is the future. A future where this residence is burn down, where each of us follow one after the other to death. Where our allies can no longer defend us, where a powerful force overwhelm the entire civilised world.
PL : I see your references, that is exactly what I explain to Menarch yesterday, the Federation need to be brought back, it is a question of survivability ! Maddomania can defend the capitalist world, as long as it is in their interest, but only us can defend the real world.
MA : Gentlemen, you are going way too further, negotiations can take place, I am sure there is a peaceful and natural solution that should bring all parties prosperity.
PL : Your Nation isn't clearly next to this threat. I say, let's de-ratify the Treaty of Genova.
MA : So this is why you insisted to hold the summit in Genova...
AT : 26 years ago, in this same residence the Federation was dissolved, because communist threat was destroyed, the world was at peace, trade flood, great economical divergeances, the Federation couldn't hold that. But now our enemy have come back, just look at your streets, fear is there !
MA : What do you recommend ?
PL : De-ratification of the Treaty of Genova, by all formers Nations of the Merchant Federation.
MA : And those who refuse ?
PL : I think their people will give them enough of valid arguments, also, troops will bring back the Pace Vinitsia if needed.

PL : I think it is completed !
MA : I have contacted every former members of the Federation, and the only ones that seems to decline are the Darzeans..
AT : Well, we absolutely need Darze, not only for its strategical position but also for its heavy infrastructures about Space Programs and Long Rang Tactical Missiles.
MA : Yes, indeed, but we wouldn't force..?
AT : We have troops stationed in the country, they have no military, very small population, weak government..
MA : But it isn't..
PL : Isn't what ? We will not stop our way because of some stupids pacifists on the way, do we ?
MA : I guess..
AT : Other leaders arrive tomorrow, and finally, the 4th, will be the day of the resurrection of the Merchant Federation.
PL : Once more we shall be united under one flag, one identity ! Fallen, down, spoilt, we shall rise again ! A toast to the Federation Gentlemen !

Statement of the Doge Augusto Tyre

 

- Dear Citizens of the World, our time is in trouble, it isn't the first time in history that our living standards have been threaten, or directly attack. Today, we restart with a threat our grandparents fought during decades, communism, this virus have infiltrated already many Nations, and today we are directly aggressed. I ask to each citizens of the World to take a breath, and to simply watch reality as it is.

We cannot, and we will not let this threat expand. Under the Merchant Federation we all bravely fought for our living standards, for our living rights, for our beliefs, and today we shall not perish ! Like my grandfather, and his grandfather before him, I will fight for my country and its rights. Today is the re-birth of our power, of our strength, and we shall fight them to the grave ! Sanguis Amoris...

We shall not succumb to fear, we shall unite, we shall fight, and that is what I am gonna to do along my dear Honorables colleagues, de-ratify Genova City Treaty and show once more to the world that we are more than a simple Nation, but a real united people.

Declaration of the Protector of the Merchant Federation in Genova City

 

- Ladies and Gentlemen, remember why we re-found the Merchant Federation ! We are threaten directly in our cities, in our own territory, such thing is inacceptable.

I have been nominated Protector of the Merchant Federation for one reason, not because I am Doge of Vinitsia, but because I know how much, as tiny nations, we can be threaten, and how to survive. Because it is all about that, each day, the number of our enemies growth, we need allies, our military isn't powerful at all, if a war was about to start know, don't make illusion, we wouldn't be able to defend the entire Merchant Federation.

Last decades we decrease our military budgets, because we believe in a pacific society, and I still believe in it ! Now, our military, legacy of the military of our 8 State Members, is around 600,000 troops, and it isn't acceptable to have this huge number of troops in activity ! We need to optimise our defences, optimise our fleet, our military, and our relations. And you, Members of the Commission for Federative Reintegration, shall not left that room until it is finish !

- Well well, I hope you had a pleasant lunch Gentlemen. Let's talk about the status of the Central Trading Bank within military affairs, with their La Flotta Commerciale. I estimate this the most satisfying proposal, allowing them to dispose of their private military under the Order of Commerce orders, ensuring our long trade routes, that are now through the entire world. Our trade never have been better, we trade with half the world with no financials barriers.

If we were able to allow the Central Trading Bank, through private interests to ensure the security of the Merchant Federation, we would be able to lower taxes, and make a lighter budget, think to this my fellow friends.
