![]() The invites had been sent out over a week ago and Queen Sonia was now nervously expecting their arrival. Around the circular grass lawn stood members of the household guard ready to give salutes to any arriving representatives. Inside the grand hall in the West Wing a large circular table had been set up with each seat set with an identical folder, pen, notepad, microphone, flag and name holder. Bottles and glasses of water stood ready and a royal chamberlain ran a well trained eye over everything before satisfying himself that all was in order. King William and Crown Prince Richard, the Queen's two husbands waited with her on the Palace steps equally as nervous, this would be the first time they'd hosted a foreign delegation. Inside each folder sat a draft copy of the treaty that she'd drafted along with Prime Minister Aideen Sterling and Minister of Justice Aideen Sterling, they all doubted it would avoid the butchers knife but Sonia was at the moment hopeful. Draft Treaty OPEN TO NEGOTIATION AND EDITS OOC- Thanks to Ben, TU and Dave for checking through this. Now just turn up 16. [1] For the sake of ease can we just assume this phrase means all species we can RP with [2] Assumed to apply to whatever species equivalent too |

Martin sighed, he supposed as Lady Greenflame was no longer here he would have to sign the document. He said quietly, "I'd happily sign it." |

Sonia had dispatched Crown Prince Richard to oversee the arrangements, he'd selected the large terrece outside overlooking the Palace's gardens for the ceremony. A long table sat in the centre of the terreace, on top of the table sat several large leather bound books which had been hastily put together, each sat on top of a flag from one of the nations which were about to sign the treaty, it contained a copy of the treaty in every language the nations gathered spoke but was left open on the page were signatures were needed. Sonia had gathered the leaders together inside her private lounge and had been enjoying small talk, snacks and wine with them. Richard, the arrangements done entered the room and embraced his wife. "Everything's in order, the press are taking seats, quiet a lot of photographers" he explained to the room, "The idea will be that the leaders will take a seat behind the table and when called upon will be able to make a statement if they wish, once finished head down the line signing each book. Each nation will take their copy home as a record of the actions of today." An aide stepped in and whispered in Richard's ear. "Their ready" he said offering his arm to his wife, "May I" "Of course" Sonia said as she linked arms with her youngest husband and followed him outside, with the others following the press took photos, after all it wasn't every day so many leaders were in the same place at the same time. Richard escorted Sonia to her seat as her 1st husband King William held the seat for her, she smiled at him thanking him as she sat down. She waited for the others to be sat down as Niklaus Silva, the nations Foreign Minister took to the podium. "Your Majesty, Royal Highnesses, Honoured guests, ladies and gentleman, I thank you all for coming to Morheim to take part in these talks. I know many nations have not attended however it is my hope that more will add their signature to this document. I would now call on each nation to make their mark on this historic charter." He stood back as Queen Sonia approached and he gave a small bow. "Thank you" Sonia said as she faced the press. "Our nation has known better than most the problems intolerance can create. As a nation that can trace its beginnings to refugees fleeing persecution we have hoped that one day no other nation will have to know the suffering our own ancestors did. Therefore I am proud to announce that along with these like minded friends we have the worlds first Universal Charter of Rights. I'd like to thank everyone for attending and wish them a bright, safe and happy future for their nation." With that 7 year old Anne Marie, the Queen's niece walked forward with a quill and ink on a silver tray and placed them down on the table like Richard had instructed her. Sonia smiled, picked up the Quill and began signing the documents one after the other until she reached the end and returned to her seat having placed the Quill back at the start of the line. Foreign Minister Silva stepped back to the microphone and spoke "I am now delighted to invite those assembled to add their own signature." he said standing aside to let the next person speak. |

"I don't feel qualified as just a knight to sign this, truly revolutionary document. As such I will sign as a custodian and pass this book to Lady Greemflame, for the her, the Lord reagents and the King to sign." Martin added his signiture and tucked the book under his arm. |

Queen Alison stood and smiled, she walked over to Martin and quietly whispered in his ear, "I'll need that book, without my signature and everyone elses on it the treaty won't be official" she took the book and placed it back on the table. "I'd like to thank Queen Sonia for organising this, I'm delighted she's had much more success than my attempt and I am proud to finally get to sign this" She began signing the document as she made her way down the line of books. |

Emperor Hans stood and buttoned his suit jacket as he approached the front. "I know through history some of the nations that now form the Union have had, how should I put this...a rather chequered history when it comes to Universal Rights, however for the last hundred years or so we have done much back home to correct that, I see this signature not as a full stop to those efforts but rather a catalyst." With those words said he began the trek down the line with the now well used quill. |
