 To:- The government of Gondor On behalf of the League of Monarchs we thank you for your application to join. In order to allow the membership to vote on your application it will be necessary for us to meet for discussions to allow me to report back to the others. I am delighted that this task has been allocated to my nation and in turn my wife Queen Sonia has allocated the task to me. I will be delighted to meet at your earliest convenience and hope things go smoothly. With Deepest Respect Crown Prince Richard Richard had managed to persuade the Queen to let his niece Paige come along on the trip, she was a raising star in the royal family, 19 years old, already a reservist in the Navy, and dedicated to a great many good causes. Sonia was keen on her gaining more experience of international politics and having returned from DEN the Queen was only to happy to let her travel with her uncle. "Well thanks for spoiling my University vacation" she said as she shut her laptop down giving Richard a broad smile. "I mean I could have been out on a girly night out but instead I'm about the meet some King." "You'll enjoy it" Richard said handing her a coat that she slipped on over her white shirt, strangely for a woman she'd chosen to wear a tie, apparently it was "all the trend", so Richard had just shrugged his shoulders. Paige followed her tall uncle out of the aircraft where they found an official looking man, "Excuse me" Richard said, "Where here on behalf of the League of Nations, I believe we're expected." |

" A pleasure to meet you Your Majesty" Prince Richard said standing and bowing as Paige did next to him. "This is my niece Lady Paige" "An honour Your Majesty" she said as they retook their seat. "I certainly hope that the League can live up to your expectations should you be admitted." Richard began as the King finished his explanation, "It would certainly open up many possibilities for your people and also our own. We have many people excited about the oppurtunities that the League is creating already, to add a Southern monarchy to the mix would be extremely useful. I do however have one concern" Richard knew this was something that would be brought up at some point and so resolved to take the bull by the horn. "In recent days we admitted Vinitsia as an Associate member, so far they've only joined the economic forum, however we are aware matters between your two nations are, how should I put this....tense." Richard said almost apologetically, "How would you perceive the League being impacted by your two nations misunderstandings?" |

The King smiled and laughed in a melodious and rich tone, one that brightened even the darkest of days. He bowed back to the both of them. "I must say, when it comes to Vinitsia, I don't have too many problems with them. They dislike us because of our affiliation with the Khanate, but we bear them no ill will. With them being an associate member and on the Economic forum, I am not worried about it. Relations are tensious you see, but all Gondor wishes for is peace between the nations, and how can we ever hope to achieve this if we cannot sit at the same table as those who disagree with us?" |

"Yes, my sister Jane has agreed to marry Guyuk Khan on her own terms", Eldarion said "We are to be close allies with Los Vatican, with the signing of our economic cooperation treaties as well as a defensive pact. If Gondor were to join the League of Monarchs, I believe that it wouldn't cause the Khan to bear me any ill will. The Maddomanian Empire may be applying to join as well, but we can't let them have control over world affairs, especially with their founding of the United Collectivum Assembly. Gondor sitting on the League of Monarchs' councils will help balance the power between East and West, and ensure Eastern sovereignty." |

OOC- With LV ceasing to exist not sure where to take that aspect of the thing. Paige was first to speak, "Our League's aim was never to take away sovereignty of any nation, be that East, North, South or West. The League, at least in its current form is about choice, look at Vinitsia, they have choosen to only engage in one aspect of the League, I believe what the League does is promote co-operation, after all the more aspects of day to day business we co-operate in the more likely we are to have peace amongst us." she explained. "If I'm honest my bigger concern" Richard continued, "Is that the North seems to be full of constant warring and aggressive posturing, I see the League as being a counter-balance against that if I'm honest." The CrownPrince looked down at his notepad. "So I suppose there is little left for us to work out" Paige continued as Richard had little else written down. "Apart from perhaps would you be joining all the organs of the League, or selecting a few?" |

Edward replied, "We will no longer have any interest in joining this League. We are open to diplomacy, but after due reconsideration, we have decided that it is best for Gondor to stay out of such large organizations." |

Paige and Richard glanced sideways at each other before the CrownPrince began, "Well I'd argue where not a large organisation, you'd be the forth member. However if you are determined to not join an organisation of this size perhaps we could persuade you to join one or two of the organs of the League, these could offer benefit to Gondor and help ensure international co-ordination while keeping you out of the organisation as a full member, would that be of interest?" Richard asked. "Beyond that if you are intent on not joining at all perhaps we could shift the focus of my visit from one of being here as a representative of the League to simply being a representative of my wife." |

"We are willing to join the economic forum. Gondor needs more trading partners and this would be a great way to accomplish it." Eldarion said "Our people suffered greatly under the rule of my father and I am looking to reverse that. Our economy is growing, but we need an outlet to be able to do what we wish with trade." |
