Japao Air Space East of the Khanate Mainland February 2, 1740 Hours Contested Territory, Biscalis Area "Two MiG29K, likely Khanate!!"the voice on the com-link shook in a mixture of excitement and apprehension, tickling the back of Lieutenant-Commander Shinji Nakamuru's head in an extremely uncomfortable way. "We've hailed them at least half a dozen times, Nakamuru! They don't seem to be stopping." Biting hard on his lip, he gave a firm squeeze to Lysa's control stick and willed the jet's afterburners to full thrust. Within half a breath, the Ignatzee-made Kfir b60 accelerated to supersonic velocities, whipping past gray storm clouds littering the burning horizon and stirring the twenty-five year old pilot to feel the same rush of adrenaline that usually accompanied a supersonic foray into the unknown. For an airplane built on a 1960's design, the Kfir was nevertheless one of the best-loved aircraft in the Royal Japao Air Force and one of the sharpest planes Shinji had the pleasure of flying. An Ignatzee adaptation of the Mirage III, the Block 60s had been essentially re-engineered variants of the original 1975 ISDF aircraft with the latest avionics, engines, radar and weapons management systems the Ignatzees had at their disposal. Yes, it may be a little dated and less nimble than the contemporary aircraft of the time, but it was a damn good at interception and packed a bristling arsenal of anti-air/anti-ship missiles that could cut down even the fanciest hunks of metal available. It was also damned fast.. Lysa was already roaring at Mach 2, slashing through the sound barrier and making the typical contrails and wave front characteristic to a high speed death machine of her caliber as she screamed towards the offending MiG pair. "Yui," Shinji spoke, peaking to his left and seeing the familiar sight of fellow pilot Yui Takagama's Kfir next to him, "Karambit missiles are a go, GC says the Khan's men aren't leaving and are in clear violation of air space." He let off on the afterburner, slowing Lysa to cruising speed. Yui overshot him for a short distance before slowing down to match his stride. "Hai!" barked Yui, her jet spinning angrily in response. "I see them on Radar Shi, they seem..." Red lights flashed on his HUD, signifying a lock-on by someone's missile targeting system. "Hostile! Veer left and fire!" The BVR (Beyond Visual Range Indicator) on his targeting device had locked on to an unfriendly's radar signature. He flicked upwards on an arming switch on his stick, exhaled deeply and pulled the trigger. Karambit, a 4th Generation MRAAM, belched hard and flew forward to its target. A handful of seconds later, the Kfir pair saw a furious ball of flame flash up on the horizon and the alarms within Shinji's cockpit ceased screaming. ![]() "MiG-29K down! I repeat, MiG-29K down!" A MRAAM from Yui's Kfir shot forward just as soon as he finished his last word, screaming as it found its way to its target. The second MiG clearly hadn't been expecting any sort of retaliation and was slashed out from the sky with an equally impressive belch of flame. Shinji shook his head, pleased at having done his job well but fearful for what could come next. "Make that two!" came Yui's excited voice. She seemed positively giddy with adrenaline, undoubtedly bouncing off the walls of her Kfir's cockpit. "Maybe they were dicking around... But why the missile lock? Stupid bastards.." Lysa made a sharp quarter turn, signaling its partner with a wobble of its wings to follow after. Whatever the reason for the MiG pair's incursion into Japao air space, the exchange had turned bloody.. and war would likely ensue. "God help us all.." thought Shinji. ![]() "Long live the people, long live Haydatia!"
Oscar slumped into his chair read through the simple message over and over again. Japao was a friend of Haydatia, relations were good and it was because Haydatia had made a friend the Premier would want to help them in war. Everyone knew of Los Vatican's strength but it was common for Haydatians, even commanders who should know better, to believe people of Los Vatican to be foolish, for the nation to be unstable and easy to defeat. Oscar never believed it, he had spent too long in the military to underestimate an enemy. But if war was to come he would be the figure head, he had to show no fear. He sent messages off to many Chapters, deployed across the globe. He wanted reports on situations, spare troops, supplies, everything. If war came to Haydatia he would be prepared he would know his situation. He messaged the Premier, asking for him to make a statement on the situation, the people should know what is happening.

OOC - Will be putting up a mod request/OOC thread pretty soon to handle non-IC chat. 1741 Hours Thirty Seconds After Impact The two MiGs had been on standard air patrol through Vatian-claimed territory, operating from the Khanate Naval Air Base at Zhao-Leng island, just under a hundred kilometers from the Japao mainland. For years, the Khan had been at negotiations with the tiny island nation concerning the oil-rich Biscalis area just east of Zhao-Leng and Japao. Negotions had turned sour one week ago following the sack of Sarmatia; the upstart Japao Monarch had flat out refused the last terms to a joint cooperation agreement proposed by Minister Salaak Rashman and declared Khanate ships unwelcome in Japao waters. Of course, the distinction between whose waters were whose were shady at best. For the two navy MiG 29Ks, the sudden appearance of Japao Kfirs had been unexpectedly lethal - both pilots were engulfed in a ball of molten hot flame courtesy of an Ignatzee-made air-to-air missile. The pair didn't stand a chance, having been blown out of the skies before being able to execute typical dogfighting maneuvers. The two Japao-manned Kfirs had done an excellent job, executing a textbook intercept run to the letter. Their commanders would be proud.. had there not had been any Khanate naval presence in the area. IKN Ruslov, a Katkaya-class corvette of the Imperial Navy, had caught the Kfir's fast moving radar signatures and relayed a frantic message to the MiG pair in the area warning them of two rapidly approaching foreign craft. Mere seconds after two nearly simultaneous explosions wiped out the Khanate aircraft, the craft had succeeded in locking onto one of the Kfirs with its Vityaz missile defense system and quickly retaliated by blasting out a SAM in its direction. The Vityaz shot vertically at first, thick trails of smoke belching from its rear as it climbed high into the sky. Three seconds later, it had tracked the Kfir's trajectory to just under a handful of kilometers east and roared to full speed. Four seconds later, and Yui's Kfir was veering wildly left and right in a dogged attempt to shake off the SAM. All could see its afterburner flare up as it attempted to reach supersonic speeds again. A rookie mistake... At this low of altitude, supersonic flight was significantly harder to reach and control.. Five seconds later, there was an explosion - a glancing hit which nevertheless tore off a third of the Kfir jet's left wing - followed by third explosion and belch of flame. It was getting dark.. Pointing its stern towards the direction of the wreck, Ruslov fired a series of illumination flares in an arc towards the east. In the distance, its crew members saw the distinct bloom of a parachute bearing down to the sea. A wind stirred, blowing west. The parachutist would be coming towards the Ruslov's direction. ![]() Commissar Yeltsin looked over at the vast plains of Japao's landscape from his position at the top hatch, they were rapidly approaching onto a small town. If it wasn't for the roar of the APC's engine you could say it was serene. Commissar Yeltsin was deployed with this squad to complete secret missions in the area. What the Chapter Masters hoped to gain from it was unknown, but Yeltsin knew his place, all he had to do was convince the locals of the Communist agenda and hand out his array of what looked to be pamphlets, it sounded a stupid thing to do but Yeltsin knew its worth, after all it would the local people that would be the bulk of this conflict. They rapidly approached the town, bundled out of the APC and moved to the local mayor. Yeltsin's job was to meet the local workers unions, as well as the local home guard. As he spoke the words of the manifesto, shot down any argument against the doctrine whenever the locals thought to out smart him. It was a long day, even if it was mostly discussion with locals. By the end of it though the locals stood up in unison, and raised their fists. Yeltsin could feel butterflies from how proud he was of them all. He stepped outside, looked as Haydatian soldiers were handing out guns, not great quality weapons mostly guns that were just stockpiled as they were made obsolete by new Haydatian firearms. Yeltsin wasn't the only one teaching the locals about revolution, the soldiers were teaching them to shoot, about guerilla tactics. The time was now 15:38, now it was time for them to leave. As they left the village they drove down a small coastal road, everything seemed normal before the terrible roar of jet engines tore past above them.

OOC - Haydatia, we can say that there are a few Haydatian soldiers in the area on the request of Japao for RP purposes. They'd likely be there training civilian militia forces. Bear in mind though that the tiny nation is still an independent state and wouldn't have accepted political proselytizing at any level if they found out. Ignatz wouldn't be able to project a large military force to the region, but I'll technically be RPing Japao against Los Vatican ;). To Haydatia: We do not like each other and disagree at every level. Our countries share a bitter history filled with many pains and violent actions against both of our peoples. For this instance, however, I respectfully ask that we cooperate to stand against the Khanate threat and cast political aspirations aside. King Meidieros is married to my sister, Aurora, and I greatly fear for her safety. As a human being and a sister, I ask that we stand together and share the responsibilities of coordinating the defense of Japao. As I send this message, a small Ignatz-Vinitisan expedition is departing Intramuros with an Ignatzee contingent and several cargo ships laden with supplies/equipment for the Japao Armed Forces. I request that our naval forces avoid hostilities with each other and assist each other in supplying the Kingdom of Japao. Truly, Crown Princess Elinora Capalla, Regent of Ignatz ===================== To the Merchant Republic of Vinitsia: We respectfully request Vinitsian assistance in the matter. Our airfields and docks will be open to any Vinitsian forces willing to come to our aid. - King Medieros o fJapao |

![]() To Crown Princess Elinora Capalla, Regent of Ignatz, The nation of Haydatia will, reluctantly, be willing to join your forces to contain the Khanate. Despite our bloody history and political disagreement we require as many forces as possible to contain the Khanate. We are willing to assist each others forces. However, for this temporary coalition to work we must be allowed to carry out our own operations without interruption from your forces. We will require naval support to ensure ports in neutral areas do not become blockaded while our forces deploy to these neutral regions nearby. We are willing to allow movements through water nearby to Haydatia, however this right can be cancelled at demand of the Haydatian government at any time. Our airfields on the mainland continent used by our peacekeepers are also open to your aircraft, though these rights are also at the discretion of the parliament. Our current operations regarding Japao militias are considered classified and it would be greatly appreciated for Ignatz forces to leave these operations to be handled by us alone. Sincerely, Premier Comrade Aayden Lecht, Cosigned by, Master-at-Arms Oscar Reindhart Jr. OOC- For purposes of RP I have some forces in Japao and they don't really know this, but when you play as Japao I wouldn't count on the militia being usable by the Japao government:) |

OOC - I'd disagree with Japao completely being ignorant of Haydatian troops in their country - a foreign armored personnel carrier rumbling around in a tiny island nation is kinda difficult to miss. I'll let Moreland use his refereeing powers on whether or not that would be feasible. To Haydatia: Ignatz recognizes Japao as an independent nation with sovereignty within its own borders. We strongly disagree with any subversive maneuvers within its own mainland, but will avoid stirring a potential pot of complications for the sake of dealing with the current situation. We thank you for your pains in allowing us access to Haydatian air bases on the mainland. As a sovereign military power, we will support your forces with regards to your earlier request but underline the point of sharing military intelligence concerning the Japao mainland and its sovereign waters with all respective allied parties. A delivery of 85 Kfir b60 fighters pulled from storage is expected to occur soon, to be flown to Japao by junior airmen for use by the Japao Armed Forces. These fighters will be transfered to the JAF's use. Refuel will be necessary midway through their journey and we request the Haydatian air bases to provide necessary maintenance to speed this delivery to its place. - Crown Princess Elinora Capalla ============================== To the Merchant Republic of Vinitsia: Our forces are small, but should be able to provide a big help to Japao. Two strategic sealift vessels are on their way to the island nation with the 1st and 2nd Royal Marine Regiment. A pair of Formidable-class frigates and the IKN air defense destroyer/flag ship IKN Garibaldi are tasked with escorting the two sea lift vessels to their location. We would appreciate Vinitsian submarines to join our convoy for added security to our men. - Princess Elinora Capalla of Ignatz |

OOC - can't find much on Japao armed forces however to get an APC you'd require either airlift or amphibious landing they are pretty difficult to do and not get spotted. Also in terms of operating the required support would also be needed. May I also point out, just in case you're not aware but an outcome regarding final situation should have been worked out between you prior to this starting in terms of an exit strategy. If that's not been done can you guys work One out before getting to in depth. Back to ruling I'd say it's possible to get an APC there but I'd say that the enemy would know some forces are there but not necessarily what or numbers. |

Ooc- outcome has been decided,. I'll Im you he details and start up an ooc/order of battle thread. I think the question was aimed more at if japao would know anything about a hatydat apc/training cadre in its own territory. Iggy is playing opposing force to my territorial ambitions. Official Khanate Response: His grace, Guyuk Khan condemns the attack on our men. All foreign parties must withdraw from the region and avoid entangling themselves in matters of Khanate national security. Any foreign naval and military buildup will be seen as an act of war against our people, it's instigators labeled terrorists and no mercy granted to those that survive our wrath. -Guyuk Khan, Lord of the East Edited by Los Vatican, Feb 10 2016, 09:14 PM.
