Flag Motto "We shall build that tower and Yahveh will pay for it" Nations Population:- 5 million GDP per capita:- 59,603 Overview The sacred kingdom of Greater Babel, colloquially known as God’s bae, is a theocratic kingdom that spans the region of Shinar, with its main cities of Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh. It is situated in the region of Audaxia and shares borders with the kingdom of Sobendieken to the North and Solarmania to the South. The sacred kingdom of Greater Babel's history is obscure, filled with the guilt of original sin, and taken by many as myth. The kingdom was created by Nimrod, of whom it is said in the Holiest of Holy Books that he was a mighty hunter before his God, Yahveh, after the great purifying of the world. He was a descendant of Noah and his three sons: Ham, Japheth, and Shem. So important is the figure of Nimrod, although little is known of him, that the kingdom’s currency takes his name. The kingdom was established as a theocracy and, with the grace of God and threats of eternal damnation, continues to be one. The figure head is Pope Peter, who was not a contemporary of Nimrod but nonetheless developed his thought and worked hard to promote his one and only desire: building a tower that reaches Yahveh. This is the purpose of the kingdom, as Nimrod intended, and Babelians work tirelessly to one day accomplish this dream and finish the tower, which has been constructed since time immemorial but fails to reach the higher plains of divine existence. Second to Pope Peter is Arch-deacon S.T. John, who gained Peter’s favour thanks to his post-modernist essay “The Book of Revealed Catastrophes to Come If You Stop Building That Tower”, which details the events that shall transpire in the event that Babelians forget their raison d’être and stop doing that which keeps the Church at the center of Greater Babel. This essay forms the last chapter of the only book available in the kingdom, the aforementioned Holiest of Holy Books, which details the tenants of their religious beliefs. In this book one learns of the God that Babelians pray to, Yahveh, and of the manner in which He wants them to behave. The book is not only for religious observance but also serves as a legal text. The relationship that Babelians, including its religious leaders, have towards their God Yahveh is one of fear mixed with devotion, which makes them a rather passive-aggressive nation, something that is reflected in their motto. They only speak the language of the Holiest of Holy Books, denying the existence of any other language or of anything foreign, as it contradicts their religious beliefs. |
