It was a typical day at Lancaster Airport, the staff began pulling various bags and packages off the arriving planes and sending them on their way. Over in the mail section Lucinda May of the National Security Force signed for a fifth diplomatic package of the day, she looked confused, it was similar to the other four, all had arrived today from nations across Audaxia but they looked almost identical. "Harry" the experienced officer called over to her assistant, "Grab the regs on diplomatic packages please"

"Yes boss" Harry headed over to the filing cabinet and grabbing the booklet of the various regulations, he casually flung it to his senior officer.

She looked at each box in turn, the handwriting on the label looked worryingly similar, that shouldn't happen, she scanned down the list of regulations and began ticking them off in her head as she examined the boxes, each about waist high and a meter across. "Harry come here, look at that label, do you see a proper address in the top right box?" she asked just double checking.

"Gaidhealtach embassy. United Moreland." he read out loud, "No street name, no city, no post code. That's not an address." he confirmed.

"Brilliant, grab the crowbar" she said.

"Shouldn't we call someone." Harry said nervously fecthing the requested item.

"Screw it, we spend all day sat around doing nothing and pass on the odd bag to people, this is exciting" she said wedging the iron bar into place and pushing down on it. The box easily gave way and straw began falling out. "Get some bags for this packaging" she said as she began pulling it onto the floor. She rummaged around in the box and pulled out a plastic bag, it was shrink wrapped around something. "Holy shit" she said as she dropped a vaccum packed arm onto the ground. The military were called and each box opened, a further arm, two legs, a torso, and then another bag arrived, this time about the size of a gym bag, it was opened and a mangled mess of a head was withdrawn.

Everyone was puzzled and after an hour of shocked message passing it came to the Queen, "Gather the ambassadors, we need to find out what the hell is going on."

SO it came to be that every nation's ambassador was summoned to the Palace, even as they made their way there more and more parts appeared, heart, kidney, liver....all from different nations sent in diplomatic packages. There were going to be some serious questions.

OOC- Assume your ambassador knows a body part has been found posted from their nation in an incorrectly labelled diplomatic bag, giving UM the right to open it. What you don't know is that all nations ambassadors have been summoned or that various body parts have been found. Lets see what happens. Anyone can join in.

It had been perhaps the strangest call of Ruth McClusky's life, she'd only been Gaidhealtach's ambassador to Lancaster a few weeks and apart from having found a nice steakhouse and a bar serving a half decent selection of whiskey she was still getting used to life here. As soon as she had the call she asked one of her security staff to accompany her to the Palace, it would be her second visit, the first being when she presented her papers to Queen Alison when she first arrived. "Malcolm" she yelled at her assistant as she left the office.

"Yes Miss McClusky" he said his bald head's shine appearing a full second before him as he peered round the door.

"Get onto the people back home, find out if we've anyone missing in the last 48 hours in Gaidhealtach , and see if anyone sent a bag here." he scribbled down in his notebook and nodded heading off to find the phone. The drive to the Palace was rather short and Ruth went over in her mind what she would say. As she was introduced to the Queen she remembered her training, "Courtsey, be polite, Your Majesty, then Ma'am as in arm not Ma'am as in jam" she repeated the etiqute trainers mantra to herself. "Hello Your Majesty" she said as she concentrated on the courtsey. "I have to say Ma'am I'm rather shocked at your phone call and I hope that you will accept my apologise for any complications this has caused, I can assure you that this is nothing to do with our embassy."

"Please Ambassador take a seat" Queen Alison gestured, it probably seemed odd to the guest that they were surrounded by far more seats than they would ever need. "First let me thank you for coming, second I must apologise but as the first here I suspect your going to hear this story a lot." the Queen took a seat opposite, "Although it does explain why we don't believe your nation is responsible."

Alison took a breath, she knew this story would be repeated numerous times[1] "This morning our airport here received numerous diplomatic packages, each mislabeled and as such perfectly entitled to be open. The fact that they all seemed identical at first caused suspicion. When opened we found in each a seperate body part. It's currently being checked by the local police but they have not ruled out them being from the same person. I am sure I don't have to tell you that this is weird. Now if there is anything you can tell us to shed light on this I'd be happy to hear it, otherwise we'll simply wait for everyone to arrive and see where things go?" she left the question hanging there wondering what either Ambassador McClusky or the newer arrivals would say.

For one Lady Arista Atalanta, the one person that had been chosen to represent the Imperium in United Moreland, the day revealed itself to be an... Unusual one. Rather than remain comfortable in the penthouse apartment she had bought for herself, she would apparently actually have to do her job for once. In any case, getting herself ready, she called up her steward. "Mortimer!" She called through the phone, and of course, the prompt response was an ever-obedient "Yes, my lady?". "Rouse the guards and get my transport ready. I am due for a meeting with the queen. And while you're at it, send a missive to the Minister of Foreign Affairs[1]. We might have a diplomatic incident incoming." And of course, the only viable response was: "Yes, my lady."

And so, arriving by limousine, Lady Arista Atalanta made herself known at the relevant venue. Entering the room where the queen was seated was of course an immense honour. And thanks to courtly life back home, she had little issue with the proper courtesies. And so, by way of greeting, she gave a formal and extravagant bow towards the queen. "Your majesty, it is my utmost pleasure to meet you. Despite the grim matter at hand." She said. Taking note that other ambassadors were in the room, she surmised that this event was bigger than it seemed at first glance...

Once the explanation for the events had been given, the young noble seemed thoughtful. "Hmm... This is indeed a confusing issue, your majesty. I am sure the ministry back home is doing everything in their power to find the culprit... For such a package to pass through the postal services in Alturi, it would have had to carry a noble seal... Or at the very least have been pre-approved by a noble family. If it turns out it wasn't approved by anyone, that'd mean it either wasn't sent from Alturi, or the contents of the package was changed mid-transport. Neither is a particularly satisfying answer, your grace."

Teutonic Union

Duke Olaf Thom had not particularly wanted to be an ambassador, however as a cousin of the influential Von Ingersleben family he had been left with little choice other than to serve the Emperor of the Teutonic Union. He hadn't though been to concerned about being posted to Lancaster, it was an affluent enough city and had plenty of places for him to indulge his desire for luxury, and football. He'd spent his year there mainly doing ceremonial duties, hosting guests in the embassy, a few posh dinners, all things he enjoyed.

Going to the Palace was something he was looking forward to, the circumstances however were not, an arm found in a diplomatic bag, it was possibly the strangest thing he'd heard of, and something he certainly didn't want to deal with. As he exited the car he took his ceremonial ambassadors sash from the seat next to him and placed it over his shoulder and entered the Palace. He recognised the Queen of course and gave a deep bow. "A pleasure as always" he said. He looked around the room, he recognised the other two ambassadors from various events and briefings. "Miss McClusky, Lady Atalanta" Olaf nodded to each , slightly confused about their prescence until it was explained.

"If I may ask Your Majesty a question" Olaf said, "These were in diplomatic packages, as such they should only be opened if not in full compliance with international law, regardless of contents, could I ask to first of all see evidence of that, not that I believe the Morelanders would break those laws however it just reassures us that this will not become a routine procedure in intercepting what could be classified information. Secondly if these parts all reached here today then surely they could not have been sent by the same person, this worries me as with so many nations involved how would they have arranged this?"

Vadim, had no such knowledge after minutes of the findings of these parts from a human. He was sitting at his desk, reading letters and looking at his computer, not knowing what was actually happening at the Lancaster International Airport, just a couple minutes after the body parts being found, Vadim was notified by a worker in the embassy, looking scared, her voice was trembling as she heard of the situation, with her hands on her stomach, she quietly talked to Vadim, as he got up off his chair, listening closely on her quiet voice.

"Uhh sir, we have gotten reports from the LIA, that body parts were found, they are saying it came from Malson." quietly saying,

"Huh? How in the hell did this happen?"

"I understand, that is why United Moreland has ordered you to immediately head over there to discuss it, your jet is also ready for operation."

"Well, no time to talk, I shall head over to MIA now."

He quickly got up from his desk, being followed by black-suited security, he takes himself to the Mordvina International Airport for that his jet was readied for take-off...

Ascarenor

Like any other day, Ambassador Aeórheil Crissaegrim began his day with the Morning Devotions to the Empress (might she live forever) in the small shrine within the embassy compound. If it were any other day he would have next gone to his office to review the days briefs, ranging from invitations for social gatherings from various nobles and ambassadors to documents requesting tariff changes or more or less exports and imports from Ascarenor that he would deal with Moreland's Prime Minister or the Exchequer and the like. Eventually, he would play a game of Quiltala, read the news from Ascarenor, perhaps attend the ballet or a party and then retire for the evening. Generally, uneventful, a bit dull, but enjoyable.

However, what happened next was nothing like any other day, Atarë Vandilmarë, the ISB rezidentura director (who was officially the Chief Cultural Attaché) was waiting for his departure from the shrine, "Sir, there is a situation that requires your immediate attention." She handed him a sealed brief.

He had passed the Imperial Examinations on his third attempt (perfectly honorable) with an astounding essay on the importance of foreign policy and its advantageous effects for Ascarenor's end to isolation and furthering their influence across Audaxia. In fact, it was so well received that it had become essential reading for further examination students earning him the rank of márasér (second ranked person to pass the Examinations that year). Aeórheil was immediately recruited into the Grand Secretariat's department on foreign affairs as a Senior Deputy (Fourth Grade Second Degree position).

Senior Deputy Crissaegrim was selected by the Presidium to represent Ascarenor as ambassador to the Kingdom of United Moreland earlier in the year. He recalled how nervous he had been with his first audiance with to Her Majesty, The Queen, to present his credentials. He thought he had held his emotions inwardly, like any respectable Arda Tuluvan, and none were the wiser to his true feelings. It was a short, yet amicable meeting with Queen Allison. That was the first and only time he had meet with Her Majesty.

His post as Ambassador has remained generally calm, if not, rather uneventful. After all, besides trade agreements Moreland and Ascarenor has very little diplomatic involvement with one another. Which, truth be told, was a blessing Aeórheil often thought. He felt rather inexperienced and a bit overwhelmed to have such responsibilities upon his shoulders. Moreland and Ascarenor were at a peace, had no military agreements, and were in no coalitions with one another. As long as their trade agreements did not come under contention his tenure here should play smoothly allowing him enough time to garner confidence and experience as he career matured. His end goal was Foreign Minister.

Aeórheil raised a brow opening as he opened the sealed brief and as he read the ISB rezident continued, "Home office assures us that it is impossible that this package could have left the capital unbeknownst with such contents. As it has it,the Censorate is alite with zealotry trying to find the culprit." The ISB rezident continued as Crissaegrim finished the confidential brief, "The main theory is that the package was placed here in Lancaster. Obviously, cultural fanatics who are against the Viceriene's New Policies have infiltrated Moreland to create a diplomatic crisis. As the package was labeled incorrectly and did not have the proper papers assigned the authorities found it prudent to open this package. However or whomever sent the package we should have been consulted and present before they opened the package. As it were, their carelessness may have tampered with evidence."

Aeórheil looked at Vandilmarë, "We should have been consulted, yes. But fanatics? That is a bit far-fetched, do not you think?"

"Fanatics such as these, sir. Who can know what they think? Or why they do the things they do. I would gather to think you might understand such intentions."

He narrowed his eyes at her inflammatory suggestion. Many Noldori held little trust for the Sindari, such a he, since the Paelgrin Insurrection ten years ago. Ignoring her indecent remarks, "It appears The Queen wishes for an immediate audience." He handed the brief back to her, a bit more forcefully than he would have liked, but did not mind either, "We shall not keep Her Majesty waiting. Inform the Palace that I shall arrive post haste." He had given her the order, which should have been done by a low ranking member of the embassy. But, he inserted his power over zealot Noldori when he could.

Aeórheil Crissaegrim entered the Queen's receiving room, eyeing it discreetly noticing the other emissaries. He was taken aback, but did not allow it to hinder his movements. What under Heaven is going on?, "Your Majesty." He said as he bowed low. Precedence demanded he greeted each other by rank. With a nod he greeted the Teutonic Duke, "Your Grace," to the Alturi noblewoman, "Your Ladyship." Then to Gaidhealtach's untitled representative, "Honorable Ambassador."

The Queen explained the situation in greater detail and offered him a seat, which he took. After Queen Allison had finished her explanation Aeórheil stood, he bowed first to the Queen, then to the other ambassadors, before bowing once more to the Queen.

"Ma'am, I am to convey from Isacmir, from Her Most Serene Highness, The Viceriene, and with the confidence of Her Highness's Government and the Presidium itself that the matter is being looked into with the utmost attention. With the greatest respect and admiration for Your Majesty and Your Majesty's Government we do find that the handling of the situation was, perhaps - with no fault placed upon Your Majesty - but was perhaps handled poorly. It is agreed, Ma'am, that no international law was broken, but the goodwill between nations has been hampered. We all desire to find the truth of the situation, a courtesy could have been extended before the opening of the package. It is our hope that this breach has not, nor will, set a precedence for further tampering with diplomatic packages."

He bowed politely again, Ascari were notorious for their constant nodding and bowing, "Ma'am, the Imperial Security Bureau, along with the Censorate, would be more than happy to work with the international community to ascertain the truth and find the culprits responsible for this heinous crime. It is agreed, that the the main theory is that this could have only been accomplished by a well funded and - unfortunately - well organized criminal syndicate."

Drogo Harrison was the new ambassador to United Moreland at the recently established Gondorian Embassy, which was a quaint building in downtown Lancaster. Drogo was at his desk taking phone calls and checking his government-issued email when his secretary knocked on the door to his office.

"Come in Arwen", he said as the young lady walked in, quaking with a sort of mortification. "S-sir", she stammered, "There is a situation at Lancaster International Airport that demands y-your direct attention, sir."

Drogo took a small sip of his Minas Tirith-brewed, medium roast coffee and displayed a most curious look on his face. His brow furrowed, while his lips curled sourly inward to form a sort of puckered demeanor. "Tell me, what is this urgent matter? I shall deal with it quickly. Wouldn't want to displease the King in my first month on the job."

Arwen nodded, and explained to him the gruesome reality of finding body parts in diplomatic packages. "All foreign ambassadors have been requested to make themselves present at the airport, sir. Queen Alison herself said this."

"Then I am off to the airport. Get me a car and a driver."

The limo took Drogo to Lancaster International Airport, where he found the Queen and bowed to her. "Your Majesty. I have heard of this horrific crime which has been committed against all species in Audaxia today. You have my deepest condolences and the Kingdom of Gondor's full cooperation in any investigations into the perpatration of this crime."
