![]() Over the last decades the economy of Gaidhealtach has began to grow, largely thanks to our agriculture, aquaculture and marine manufacturing industries. However over the last two years this growth has begun to slow. We put this largely down to the lack of international co-operation between neighbours in terms of trade, investment and co-ordination. This is an issue I would like to see change as I am sure that such initiatives would help other nations economies grow at a faster rate too. I would therefore like to invite all nations with territory in the southern hemisphere to come and meet in our capital Cannich for talks on this and any subject that you wish. It is my hope that at the end of talks we can create an organisation or forum that will allow us all to benefit from mutual trade agreements and polices. Best Regards Jarl Murray Ross Chief of the Ross Clan. ![]() Map of those Considered in South

Palazzo Ducale, Vinitsia City![]() With the new Cabinet, new Doge and new Vice Doge, Sabrina was one of the few that stayed, probably as she was the most experienced woman that could potentially do this job, she had dozens of meetings with different nations, hards negotiations to do, but her goals were always reached. She was sent to Gaidhealtach -name that she passed hours to perfectly say it, as the time flight allowed her to do so- in order to be an observer, even if she knew it would be far more than that, it would be to act and potentially develop ties with Gaidhealtach -mostly for trade naturally- along allowing Vinitsia to take part into this organisation if possible. When the small -but nor less luxurious- plane landed, a car sent by the embassy was waiting for her. Inside, on the passager seat, a man was waiting for her, as she enter, the man reveal himself as being the Ambassador of Vinitsia to Gaidhealtach, he transmitted files and datas concerning what he knew about he Gaidhealtachan culture, as she knew this wasn't a culture you could apprehend in some days... |

With as many of the guests arrived as they thought was coming the Jarl gathered them all together. "I'd like to thank you all for agreeing to attend, its my hope that from this small meeting something bigger can come. They'll be an official welcome up at Cannich Castle, however I'd like for you to see some of Gaidhealtach beforehand, and perhaps see what wares we have to offer." The Jarl smiled aware of what the city was like on market day. "It's my intent to show you the Gullen Ross Charge, the route taken by my ancestors hundreds of years ago to releave a siege in the castle up there" he pointed to the hill at the top of a hill just over a mile away. "Now it is a steep hill so if anyone would prefer a car just say so." He looked around and no one spoke up [1] "You'll each have a member of our security forces with you should you need them, but don't worry our people are as keen to meet you as you are to meet them." he chuckled as the bases gates opened and he lead them out. The street outside was cobbled, the stones smooth from years of marching by soldiers swapping over guard duty at the top of the hill. After a few hundred meters shops began either side, their keepers stood outside trying to intice people in, the middle of the street was full of stalls selling everything from barrels of whiskey to silver daggers. Jarl Ross had primed several of the nicer stall owners. "Hey Mister!" Ambassador Kiyoma was the target of the man's shout, he walked over with a tin mug with a splash of whiskey in. "Try this, the finest Highland Whiskey" he offered the man the cup before realizing a language barrier existed, he motioned for the man to drink. Suddenly a second man appeared. "He don't want that swill, try this Island of Ross finest" he pushed a second mug with a few drops of amber liquid towards the man. While a small tasting competition erupted around the Ambassador the Jarl smiled. Sabrina meanwhile had found herself approached by a rosy faced young girl, no older than 20. "Ma'am" she said politley, "You can't be on the Charge and not be wearing tartan" she held streached in out reaching arms a shawl in tartan, "Your from Vinitsia right?" the girl descreetly guided Sabrina over to the market stall with all the skills of a seasoned market trader. "So, no clan.....hmmm.....let me see" she sorted through various fabrics before holding up a greenish and blue tartan, "Yeah, that's your colour" without a word she flipped it skillfully around Sabrina's neck and tied it neatly in a knot loosely around her neck. "Beautiful" she said standing back admiring the shawl. "Consider it a gift, however when you get back to Vinitsia tell everyone it came from Grace's Textile" she smiled before skipping over to another potential customer. "Chancellor Laar isn't it?" an old man said wandering over, "Yeah, I recognise you from the paper" he said pointing at her as though confirming it. "Vilsandi have anything like this" he said holding up a piece of purple heather fastened together with a silver band. "I hear your here for economic talks, well you'll need good luck for that and we call this lucky heather." he pinned it to the Chancellor's jacket, "We could do with more trade from the North, so I wish you luck" he said as he returned to his stall. "Your Majesty! Hey Queen Alison Ma'am" a rough voice called from the side of the street, "Go grab her" the rough handed man told his young son, he scurried through the crowd and guided the Queen his way. "An honour to meet you" the man wearing a blacksmith apron said banging away on an anvil as he bowed. "I hear you Morelanders are interested in swords, and that your craftsmanship is beyond compare.....well apart from this stall" he laughed heartily as he wiped sweat from his mustache. "Now I wonder whether an expert such as yourself would pass judgement on this for me." he held up a razor thin sword and held it hilt first towards the Queen for her to examine. Hilda looked around. "Well thank you for the luck" she said trying to seem as grateful as possible. Hilda then decided to go around and look at all the different markets to see what goods might be of some use to the people of Vilsandi. "Hmm, that looks nice. Perhaps we could begin to import something like that" was what went through her head most of the time. As well as some slight confusion over what some of the things were but she was just happy to be able to look around at a different culture and get a grasp of just how they lived their life. |

In the meanwhile, a certain someone known as Earl Quintis Galvisius seemed to be rather aloof throughout the whole process of wandering through the streets like a commoner. Of course, regardless if it would be seen as a snob or not, he had brought along two members of his own security that constantly followed him around, making sure that no merchants and businessmen approached him openly without him first showing interest in them... However, being a man of... Considerable girth. With a large love for the sweet and savoury things in life, the portly noble found himself entranced by a stall selling small baked goods. "Hm? Ah! This is simply marvelous!" He exclaimed, dropping the aloof act for a moment, inspecting, and of course, accepting free samples of the baked items. While as a general rule, the Empire did not care for international affairs unless they were affected directly, foreign and exotic food and drink was one of the things that were in fashion at the moment. And Earl Galvisius had been picked for this assignment specifically for the fact that he was a connoisseur regarding all things consumable... After some careful deliberation and tasting, the Earl decided to act! "Sir!" he told the man running the stall. "These baked goods are simple exquisite! Might I have the name of both you and your company for future reference? Do you happen to have a share in international shipping already? If not, then I shall soon be introducing you to the wonderful world of export!" |
