[OPEN] [OPEN] Southern Economic Development Co-Operative; Help me to help you.

Over the last decades the economy of Gaidhealtach has began to grow, largely thanks to our agriculture, aquaculture and marine manufacturing industries. However over the last two years this growth has begun to slow. We put this largely down to the lack of international co-operation between neighbours in terms of trade, investment and co-ordination. This is an issue I would like to see change as I am sure that such initiatives would help other nations economies grow at a faster rate too.

I would therefore like to invite all nations with territory in the southern hemisphere to come and meet in our capital Cannich for talks on this and any subject that you wish. It is my hope that at the end of talks we can create an organisation or forum that will allow us all to benefit from mutual trade agreements and polices.

Best Regards

Jarl Murray Ross
Chief of the Ross Clan.

Open Letter of the Consul for Affairs Sabrina Reyote

Greetings Jarl Murray Ross, Chief of the Ross Clan,

Even if the Most Serene Republic of Vinitsia does not possess any territories within the South Hemisphere, I allow myself, Honourable Consul for Affairs, Sabrina Reyote, to ask the authorisation to participate as an observer, and later actor if it is your will, to this Conference concerning not only the economics of the Southern Hemisphere, but also greatly the Most Serene Republic following the important trade ties and links we have forged with many nations during the last centuries.

I would be delighted if your Honour accept my humble request, coming from a certainly far, but friendly Nation.

Consider all my regards,
Sincerely yours,
- Honourable Consul for Affairs, Sabrina Reyote

MESSAGE TO VINITSIA

The SEDC is intended to promote trade between those nations closest to our home islands, however we are not one to turn down an oppurtunity to work with others. I would be delighted to offer you an oppurtunity to come and sit in on our talks, Vinitsia is an experienced trading nation and I believe your words will be of value. Should the other Southern Nations agree I would have no issue with you acting as an observer or perhaps more depending on the course talks take.

Regardless of the views of the other Southern nations I would like you to visit our homeland, should they reject your involvement I see no reason why our two nations can not formulate some seperate deal. I hope this is something that will be acceptable.

Best Regards

Jarl Murray Ross
Chief of the Ross Clan.

As a nation quiet literally bridging the North/South divide we would be very interested in your proposal, we are not sure however in your estimation whether we qualifty as a Southern nation with your line running literally across our Southern Coast. We feel however that our position provides an oppurtunity for our nation to perhaps act as a bridge between the two halves of Audaxia. As such I hope you will permit us to attend these talks.

Please inform us of your decision.

Queen Alison II of United Moreland.

Office of His Majesty, The King
Vihterpalu
The Kingdom of Vilsandi

To Jarl Murray Ross,

Vilsandi is on the border of the north-south divide and as such we wish to send a representative to discuss with you the possibility of a Southern Economic Co-Operative. We believe that connecting our economies will create a vast ocean of opportunities and we hope that you will be willing to let us attend the meeting. We hope you will be willing to allow us to attend.

Yours Sincerely,
King Maarjo XV of Vilsandi

To Jarl Murray Ross,

Wahland, though not a "southern" nation, has a long history of diplomacy with southern nations, and as such, I would like to personally attend and look forward to visiting your homeland. As you may or may not know, Wahland's largest sector is in energy and extraction and unfortunately we have seen a sharp decline in demand for nonrenewable energy sources which has caused a severe recession here at home. We would love to take this opportunity to discuss ways of strengthening our economies through mutual trade and economic co-operation.

Sincerely,
President Danielle Wahl of Wahland

The capital city of Cannich had been a buzz for a few days now, fresh flowers had been put in the hanging baskets that hung on the corners of streets from lamposts. Shop fronts on the Gullen Ross Charge had placed their best wares on shop and the cobbles had been scrubbed thoroughly. The seven clan chiefs had meet for breakfast at the castle which served as the government's seat of power, now with plates full of haggis, fried mashed turnips and potatoes they chatted about the meeting ahead, only Jarl Murray Ross would be speaking on their behalf but all of the would be meeting the new arrivals, after all in their homeland all Clan's were equal.

"You sure this is the best way to get them here?" Chief Lennox Cathcart asked, he himself was getting old and a walk up the "Charge" was something his knees didn't enjoy as much as they used to in his younger days. The street stretched approximatley a mile but was rather steep and cobbled, on each side of it were pretty buildings that now served as shops, bars and restaurants, today though was market day and as such wooden stalls selling everything from whiskey, to jewellrey, to fresh haggis to tartan cloth had been set up in the large square that stood to the left hand side of the street half way up. The Jarl had planned to show off Cannich by having the guests make the historic walk from Gullan's Farm military base to the castle.

"It'll be grand, what better way to showcase our homeland than by the people welcoming them, maybe make some money too." the Jarl chuckled as he washed his haggis down with a swill of tea.

An hour later the seven Chiefs found themselves at Gullan's Farm Military Base, its airfield kept free for arrivals, the base had been built in the 1960's and only ever had the occasional flight in and out, after all it was pretty much in the city itself. Flanks of green jacketed kilt wearing soldiers stood ready to greet the arrivals. Jarl Murray Ross paced nervously as two giant men carrying claymores stood guard either side of the nations flag.

"Your Lordship take an order?" one of them a deep booming voiced Sergeant said as the Jarl walked past again. Murray had been a soldier himself in his younger days, although a freak rugby injury representing his Regiment saw that end.

"Go on Sergeant." The Jarl said slightly confused.

"Stand bloody still, your making a groove so you are." the Sergeant said matter of factly. Murray stopped and laughed and gave a sarcastic salute as he stood still in front of the flag awaiting the first arrival.

Queen Alison had wanted to visit Gaidhealtach for some time, she remembered speaking to the Jarl at the event in Hawkwick and had found him a decent type of guy, and the whiskey that he had brought had been fantastic, a good whiskey was always welcome in Lancaster, which was the main reason for her attending in person. Soon it would be her brother Robert's birthday and he considered himself a conniseur of the whiskey and as such she intended to find him an extra special bottle, after all it was his 30th. She watched the highlands glide by as they made their way in to land and waited patiently for the door to open.

"Ready when you are Your Majesty" Captain Richard Fairbrother announced as he looked around outside, even though they were on a military base he wasn't about to be careless, after all as a Royal Scout his Queen's life was in his hands.

"Thanks Richard" she said as she pulled on her blazer, she'd known Richard since they'd both been 12 and he'd been in her class at school, she didn't like to admit it but she had a slight crush on him back in the day. She walked past and down the steps to greet the Jarl. "Jarl Ross, a great delight to be here, a beautiful country from the air" she extended her hand to the man and then marveled at the men with Claymores, she could imagine Richard behind her doing the same, he was an avid collector of swords and it seemed at every parade he had a different one strapped to his hip, however these did seem a little too big for that.

Ambassador Kiyoma was shaken awake by one of his aides as the plane landed. "Honorable Kyoma, we are here."

"Thank you Amaya." he said with an old man cringe as he lifted himself from the seat. "Please, hand me my sword." he said pointing to his katana; he fastened it on his robes which were decorated with his family's own mon. With a low sigh, he walked down the center aisle trying to look through the windows and gather who was greeting them. It was his first diplomatic meeting perhaps and the first time he was titled Ambassador. If not tired of living, from his crippling old age and years serving as an agent under the Shogun, he was tired of being contained in Battousai. He had never gotten to travel with the recent political stigma of 'stranger danger' hanging around but with the new Shogun coming into power, he was happy a transitional policy came to mind.

The circumstances were a bit off however, he was a student of economics but supposrted Battousai current socialist system. One he had fought for and believed brought prosperity and balance between the Samurai and people. He was purhaps overly patriotic and bias, but Kiyoma recognized this and embraced it.

As he exited the plane he recognized the weather as being similar to home, but with a crisp feeling, as home was bogged with haze from the factories. He approached, suddenly remembered, translator! they didn't send a translator with me the fools!. He looked to one of his aides as they approached. "Did we forget the translator?"

Amaya came to the sudden realization and gasped.

"We don't know their language by any means. Nor does anyone know ours, isolation will do that to you." he seemed amused by the situation, bowing on approach. He didn't know to say, because he couldn't say anything. So he stayed quiet, and cluelessly smiled as he was greeted.

Chancellor Hilda Laar's plane came in to land. She looked out of the window admiring the rolling highlands of Gaidhealtach. The nations green areas were very different to Vilsandi's forests and lakes. It was her first foreign visit since her Social Democratic Union had swept to power in the recent election and she looked forward to seeing what the meeting would bring. As the captain came out of his cockpit and opened the door she climbed off of the tiny government jet. She smiled and whispered "Thank You" before heading off to meet the Jarl.

She felt very honoured for there to be soldiers waiting for her arrival and she smiled as she walked over to greet him. "Hello Jarl Ross. I'm Hilda Laar, the Chancellor of Vilsandi. It is an honour to meet you" she said in her usual soft tone.
