Land of the Hanging Moon

Posted Image

Summary
Tsukihon(also 'Tsukidearu' Tsukihonese: ที่ดิน ของดวงจันทร์), meaning "To be of the Moon" or "To Be Moon" is a large Island of over 392.6 Million inhabitants, located below the island of Genova and the SCPR of Unriel. The millions of Taukihonese, on their dreary, green and sunless island, are known for being persistent and hard-working. The population is highly educated, technologically advanced but very traditional, and in a sense conservative. Because of this, Tsukihon is conservative and traditional in nature, seeing foreign culture as an oddity and some parts of the country, Tsukihonese are variably xenophobic toward outsiders. The people of Tsukihon are also well-reserved and believe in strict formality.

The Island itself is large and gives way to a diverse population of varying ethnic groups and sub-cultures. The way all of the Tsukihon islanders have developed can be largely attributed to the island's diverse landscape, yet cloudy and damp climate. Mountains variably dot the island and their small peninsula's. The island is dominated by humid continental climate and humid subtropical. In many ways Tsukihon society is very militaristic, which has caused their formal and strict nature. The country is led by the Prince Shogun, who acts as the hereditary military and political leader of the country. Through the royalist and militaristic institution, the government controls various facets of society.

Tsukihon is also feudal in nature, with democracy being non-existent and Lords called Daimyo ruling over their cities, formally holdings which are considered in a similar vein to provinces. Because of this system, Tsikhon largely remains non-cohesive and despite being defined as a dictatorship, each Daimyo and their city-holdings maintain a strong sense of autonomy and governance, this ties into Tsukihonese being fiercely independent. The balance of power is maintained this way, by the wealthy, royalist elite and the elite warrior class. The Prince Shogun maintains this balance by acting as both a leader for the militaristic warrior class(Samurai) and the wealthy economic elite(Shugo). Daimyo's vary, some are Samurai, others are Shugo.

Etymology; How this land of crazy moon people got the name
Tsukihon, is a rough transliteration and interpretation of Tsukihon’s etymology. Essentially the name can translate into “To be of the moon”, though in Tsukihon’s traditional name, Tsuri Tsuki no Tochi, it can mean “Land of the Hanging Moon” as the island is commonly referred to to as. This self prescribed name has it’s roots traced back thousands of years into the nation’s history. Originally, the name comes from early mythology which described the importance of the moon’s tides and light provided in the dark nights. The moon is often described as the ‘Hanging Moon’. The Hanging moon is observed by the Tsukihonese as encompassing their core values and the Meiyo no Chikai, a common samurai code of ethnics.

The was to refer to someone from Tsukihon is 'Tsukihonese'

Language; Why do these people make noises? That’s Tsukihonese? Huh.
ที่ดิน ของดวงจันทร์ - means 'land of the moon people' and it's roughly how all the Tsukihonese write. Tsukihonese is a complex language, known to be hard to learn and write, yet prides itself on elegant and artistic mannerism.
